“I mean I try to keep good balance but… I don’t know about this. I have trained myself to be surefooted as I can, so this can become a test.” he said with the faintest of smiles. He wasn’t one to show too much emotion but he did find the activity to be something he would enjoy. “If I fail well then the company can always be a good thing too.”

“Good answer,” Liadra said with a laugh. “Alright, come on, let’s do this.” Tapping her fingertips together for a moment, she went through her options and then had the computer generate a cove that opened up into open water. The water was warm and comfortable, so no need for wetsuits. It was lightly cloudy so they didn’t have to worry about too much light reflection off the water that would blind them. Wind speed was a moderate 20 kilometres per hour (a little under 11 knots) and suitable for the small hydrofoil sailboats they were going to be using.
“Okay, computer, generate two hydrofoil sailing dingys tied up at a pier and ready for sailing.” Before their eyes the two boats appeared. Liadra grinned at Cain. “So, we each get one and there’s a seat inside, You basically sit in the boat and use the attached lead lines to adjust the sail and change your direction. With the given wind speed, we’ll probably top out at 10 kilometers per hour, so a perfectly safe speed to be sailing at for beginners. What do you think?”

“Okay… and this is something humans do often?” Cain asked, it seemed dangerous, not that he wasn’t willing to try. “How long did you used to do this sport?” he asked her, curious why she ever quit.

“I don’t know the frequency of Human participation, but it’s a popular sport for those that like more adventurous activities.” Liadra smirked slightly. “As for my participation, I learned at the Academy when I tried to join the hydrosailing team and had to give it up.” Her smirk deepened. “Too many visits to Sickbay.”
“Okay! So let’s go,” Liadra said before querying the computer to outfit them with the necessary wetsuits. They had cropped legs and short sleeves though, since the water was warmer. Placing her hands on her hips, she pretended to pose. “Stylish, right?” she said with one of her wider grins.
Lt. Cmdr. Liadra, CNS
“We… have to wear that?” Cain asked as he arched his eyebrow. He wasn’t sure how he felt wearing that. “Is there other options? Maybe something that doesn’t make me look like a wet seal?” he asked her with a dead pan expression.
