“Care to join us, Captain?” Liadra said, leaning forward slightly to make eye contact. “We’re just chatting about the ship and our time in Starfleet so far.” She had developed a good rapport with the man so far but it would be nice to talk to him outside of duty a bit more. It was also good to see him venturing out amongst the crew as well. It was good for the cadets to get to see and know their captain.

“Sure,” Johnson said as his drink arrived. He picked it up and moved over slightly to join the conversation. Getting to spend some time with his fellow crew mates without having to give orders seemed like a good way to spend his time off duty.

“So what am I interrupting,” Johnson asked as he sipped his drink.

“Oh just some girl talk,” Marlene said jovially, looking over at Liadra and giving her a wink. Then she turned her eyes back to the Captain, giving him a long stare.

“Tell us, what is on your mind,” the green skinned doctor said, almost provocatively.

Liadra really didn’t have to add anything, but grinned at Marlene’s invitation. How much would he let himself relax around the crew? She hadn’t yet spent enough time with him to know, but she also knew that she and Marlene might present a potential situation where their teasing might make things awkward, but she suspected that David could handle it. Hopefully, she mused as she sipped her drink.

Bump for CO

(OOC: Sorry… I may have disappeared for… 18 days?! Yikes! Bad Captain…)

David’s years in Command meant he wasn’t about to be scared off this easily…

“What’s on my mind?” David said, pausing to sip his drink. “Wondering which alien gods decided to punish me by putting me in the middle my counselor and chief medical officer’s … ‘girl talk’.

Liadra chuckled. I suppose that could be intimidating,” she teased.

“Seriously, though, I’m just looking forward to getting us back on a mission. We’ve been too cooped up here at Earth, and I’m … itching… to get back out there.”

-Captain Johnson, CO

The Denobulan nodded. “I couldn’t agree more. There’s nothing better than seeing the streaking stars and the excitement of the unknown. Even though we don’t go all that far because of the cadets, there is always something new. I personally get excited by their excitement. It’s infectious.”

Lt. Cmdr. Liadra, CNS

“I just like not having to be in one place too long. Which you can usually count on when you command a Starfleet starship,” David said, excitement in his voice at just the thought of a new mission outside of the system. “But what about both of you? What brought both of you here?”

Captain Johnson, CO

Liadra looked around her and then grinned at them. “Any good psychologist knows that the best way to get a feel for people is to see them in a more natural setting. I can learn about people in meeting and evaluations, but I find it easier to tap into the overall feel of a ship and any potential issues when I’m in a social space. You can learn as much by observing who doesn’t show as by who does and why.”

Lt. Cmdr. Liadra, CNS

“I’m just here to drink,” Marlene quipped. “And to scare the cadets by how much I drink. And to watch them as they squirm and try and figure out how to interact with each other with their superiors present.” She grinned, raising her glass in the air.
