=^= Starbase medical to Endeavor medical group. Lt Commander Seamus McLean here. We have a request relating to your upcoming mission. =^= This sounded off from the CMO’s principal office, though was overheard by any nosy medics passing near.
- Wookiee

Marlene entered her office and replayed the message awaiting her. Then she opened a channel.

=/\= This is Lieutenant Marlene Judas, the Chief Medical Officer on board the Endeavor. What is your request? =/\=

-Lt Marlene Judas, CMO

Seamus came on. He was pale of face even with his fair hair tinged with red amidst dotted freckles on his upper cheeks. Middle aged, his jowls were starting to look more pronounced. =^= Lt, I am pleased to meet you. Forgive my intrusion. I know from my time on vessels that you are all very busy. Your next mission will be taking you to support and supply a vessel in unique circumstance. Due to the conditions we would like you to undertake sample examinations of the crew. Now, if you do this on their vessel, the SeaHawk, you will need to utilize special instrumentation which we have included in the supplies. Your CPO should be able to locate them for you. You see, the world they are on actively and uniquely breaks down replicated material. Since most of the material which we have today has all or some components replicated, you well, begin to see our problem. =^=
- Seamus McLean

Marlene let out a sigh. =/\= Very well. Is there anything else of importance that I should be made aware of? =/\=

-Lt Marlene Judas, CMO

Seamus considered the question. =^= The Seahawk is a submarine with space capability, and due to heavy metal components in the seas there you cannot transport directly to the ship but be picked up at a dock facility. This is something you may want to talk to with your counselor to coordinate meetings, but there have been notations in reports about them seeing or hearing things. now, yes, that tends to perk the interest of almost everyone about otherwise undiscovered or out of phase or whatever aliens, however nothing they have tried apart from an exorcist has borne fruit. Some consider it a possible factor of space sickness, or sea sickness. Part of your job is to narrow the margins on this if possible. =^=
= Seamus McLean

OOC: Bump

Marlene let out a bored sigh. Special equipment. Hallucinations. Sea faring space travelers. What would they come up with next?

=/\= Understood. We will do our best. Endeavour out. =/\=

She hastily closed the connections, and then pulled up the cargo records to determine what these antiquated devices they had provided for her and her team to use.

-Lt. Marlene Judas, CMO

The cargo manifest did indeed have a case labeled ‘Medical Scanning Devices’. There was a number listed as ‘18 dedicated for SeaHawk use - 6 for temporary Mission use’. As well, there was a bin number - # SFM-087438-Mod. Unfortunately there wasn’t a precise inventory on this for her access. Notations below said: See Bay Staffing for physical access and inventory.

“Great,” Marlene said, not at all fancying the idea of rummaging through the cargo bays and dealing with more incompetent cadets. She transferred the information to her PaDD and then strode out into Sickbay, stopping in the middle of the room.

“I need someone to come with me to the cargo bay!” She barked, briefly scanning the room to she who might be on duty that she could get to do her dirty work.

-Lt. Marlene Judas, CMO

Buckingham was in Sickbay working on one of the Computers when the voice of the CMO reverberated around the room. He was just about finished anyway, so he signed off the computer, stood up and picked up his Lab Coat that was draped over the back of the chair next to him.
Unaware of the potential tedium of the job ahead Tom walked over to Marlene and said “I’m free Ma’am.”

“Oh good, it’s you!” She said emphatically, giving him a semi-hard slap on the arm. “With me, Cadet.” She said, clapping her hands together. “With me! With me!”

“Yes Ma’am” Buckingham said as he followed the CMO.

She led him to the turbolift and finally to the cargo bay, where she looked around for someone who might be working in this area.

-Lt. Marlene Judas, CMO

Tom was intrigued as to what they would actually be doing in the Cargo Bay, it wasn’t exactly the sort of place a ship’s Doctor finds himself in too often.

Cadet Thomas Buckingham, Medical

She was met by a businesslike woman who had the markings of a chief petty officer. She was short, plump, bearing a round face and light brown hair done up in a bob. She carried an oversized PaDD that was more like a thick glassy clip board; her short fingers curling around it. A stylus was set behind one ear. “Doctor … zzz,” she said realizing there were two of them. “Uh, house call?” Her bright eyes were curious at seeing them there. “Nobody’s been hurt, well, apart from the death not long after the inventory was transferred.” A shadow crossed her features; she knew the crewman who had died, though that was a mission back and seemed like a long time now.
- CPO Bobbi Keith

Marlene glared at Bobbi. Then she handed her the PaDD. “I need to see what’s in the marked bin labeled as medical supplies for the upcoming mission.” She glanced over at Thomas. “Show Cadet Buckingham to the inventory.”

Bobbi glanced at the PaDD and furrowed her brow. “Yes, all the medical supplies are in the same area. Aisle …” She checked her documents. “Ah .. 9, section 3. I can take you there and we’ll have a look.” She glanced at Buckingham with a nod. “Sir, when you are ready.”

Looking over at Thomas, asked. “Have you familiarized yourself with the details of our current mission?”

-Lt. Marlene Judas, CMO

“Yes Ma’am” Buckingham replied as he recalled to mind the information that he had read and overheard.

Cadet Thomas Buckingham, Medical

“Very well, I will leave you in charge of figuring out the inventory,” Marlene said. “Contact me when you have it all sorted out. I’ll be seeing to our guests.” She turned on her heel and marched out.

-Lt. Marlene Judas, CMO

Bobbi would lead Thomas along an aisle to the destination. There, there was a number of uniforms on a rack, what looked to be components for a bio bed and displays as well as a series of labeled crates. Her eyes scanned down till she found the one. “Here. That’s the one.” She hauled it out as it was the second shelf from the floor, then ran a scanner over it that automatically snapped the latches open. “Want to do the honors?” She wriggled back on her knees to give Thomas room. “Your first assignment?”

“Thank you” Tom said politely as he knelt down and gently lifted the lid on the box. “Yes, it is” Tom smiled.

she asked. “What do you want to do when you are out of here and in the wide open galaxy?”
- Bobbi

They were met with what looked to be a set of museum pieces. Medical scanners from what looked to be the past century were inset in a foamy base in a neat row. On a second row there were what looked to be thin medical PaDD’s. There was a printout as it were of documentation in the lid. “That’s likely for you,” Bobbi said. “Not quite Christmas but you never know.

“I’m sure this will prove to be quite useful” Buckingham said with an interested tone as he closely examined the contents of the box. This certainly was a collection of interesting artifacts.

The documentation was a brief on the specs of the ‘artifacts’. They were original units, however their internal chipset and software had been upgraded to the current standard. Due to the limitation on not having replicated items apparently this was the medical compromise.

The question Bobbi asked was certainly a deep question. “I’m not really sure” Tom said. “We’ll have to wait and see what the wide open galaxy has in store. But for the moment, I’ll just focus on try to be the best Doctor I can be.” He answered, trying his best to make his response lighthearted.

Bobbi gave Thomas a half smile that looked cute on her round face. “Do life to the full as you see what doors lay ahead in other words. You have any specialties? You know, ‘eyes, nose and throat’ kind of thing?”
- Wookiee for Bobbi

“My specialist field is Trauma and Emergency Medicine. It sounds a little general, but it’s incredibly useful for this sort of area of medical work. You never know what will come through those Sickbay Doors.” Tom said earnestly.

Cadet Thomas Buckingham, Medical

“Sounds like you’d do well on a kind of forward marine ship,” Bobbi commented. ” Not so good at the sight of blood myself, especially mine. How do you do it?”

Bobbi
