Cassandra stepped off the shuttle after it had safely came to a stop in the Endeavor’s shuttlebay. She was the first off, other crew making way for her either out of respect or nervousness at her rank. Truth be told, she was happy to make the first move, eager to take her command and get going.
“Captain Rixan?” A fellow Trill woman caught her attention.
“Yes?” She responded, smiling and noting her Commander’s pips.
“I’m Commander Keena Vahl, outgoing XO and acting Captain, my transfer order came pretty quick, Captain Johnson is already gone, but left notes with me,” she handed her a PaDD, “I’m basically boarding the shuttle and heading out, the USS Fairchild is headed to where I can rendezvous with my new assignment, the USS Armstrong. The ship is in good condition, the mission perimeters, as well as any developments after Captain Johnson’s departure, are in that PaDD. I’ve also read in most of the senior staff, so they can help you get up to speed as well.”
“Thank you Commander, best of luck on the Armstrong, Captain McKinnley’s a good officer, I served with him on the Dante years upon years ago.”
“Best of luck to you too ma’am,” Keena nodded, “Computer, transfer all command codes to Captain Cassandra Rixan, authorization Vahl-2131.”
=^=Transfer Complete,=^= The computer dutifully responded, =^=The USS Endeavor is now commanded by Captain Cassandra Rixan.=^=
“Thank you Commander, you best get to your shuttle, Command rarely likes issuing new transfer orders. Dismissed.”
“Indeed they don’t,” Keena replied, disappearing into the crowd of people filing onto a shuttle.
“Well,” Cassandra replied to herself quietly, “Let’s go check out the bridge.”
