Everything hurt.

He was tired, he had hardly slept. Everything he had done had lead to this moment, prepared him to walk into the office directly in front of him. Everything he had done had lead to him earning the right to be called a Cadet. It was hardly an important rank, he was still a trainee but it was progress compared to where he had started. Progress was good, at least in his head.

He looked at the door, breathing out.

He couldn’t panic, he needed to keep himself together. He rarely had issues meeting new people but for some reason the thought of walking through the specific door terrified him. He was early, for once so he didn’t have to worry about being shouted at for being late, and so he couldn’t figure out why he was so worried about what he was about to do.

He took another deep breath.

And waited.

Cadet Rook, Eng.

OOC:
I apologise for the wait the old life gambit got me.

IC:
“Enter.” Boomed the voice of a hurried man through the door.

Through the doors a stark office of little remark revealed itself housing nothing more then it’s standardized furnishings. On either side of the single desk was a common chair, tucked away under the frame. The computer openly ran a diagnostic that was mimicked on the wall panel where stood a slender man who seemed to rush between the two consoles. His sleeves pushed up over the elbows, the surly andorian flashed a choleric gaze at the cadet, azure blue eyes strafing between the man before him and the terminal. Thin through substantial in size, the officer’s movements were ridged and structured, yet seemingly comfortable. Pastel blue flesh wrapped his attenuated body and caught the light of the room in a way that had him appear almost spectral. Pointing with a pad overturned in his left hand, he spoke mildly.

“Sit if you like.” He spun around, returning to the wall panel and continued.

“Lieutenant Omtala, Rexar. Good to have you aboard Rook.” After completing a few commands Rexar stepped away from the screen and turned to sit in the chair on his side of the desk. He then closed the computer in front of him and palmed an item of that sat behind the console. Metallic in nature, its shape was odd and appeared deformed. Beyond that it was difficult to determine.

“I haven’t fully reviewed your file cadet, enlighten me to what function best suits you and why?”

Rexar had been preoccupied by the sensor maintenance and wasn’t able to complete the review on Rook’s dossier but he was aware of his qualifications. Rather he was curious to know he thought of himself.
