“Captain/Commander, it looks like one of the asteroid pieces has impacted with another asteroid and that asteroid has changed course to a trajectory that could impact the asteroid the prospectors are on,” she reported.

Lt Trent, COS

“Can we evacuate them or clear the asteroids from colliding with them?” Cassandra asked, observing the situation.

~Cassandra Rixan~

Evacuation was possible. It was only two prospectors and they were within range of transporters at this time.

“Evacuating them could be risky, but I do have the asteroids targeted,” Kanto replied. “Lt. Trent, be prepared to fire at these coordinates as soon as the captain gives the order.” His fingers moved across the console quickly, sending Trent the information. “Orders, Captain?”

“Fire when ready Lt. Trent,” Cassandra ordered.

~Cassandra Rixan~

Kate nodded her affirmation to Rixan’s order as her fingers danced over the console to fire the phasers at the pro-offered coordinates. She studied the readouts as the phaser fire burst forth at the asteroids, ready to give a report back as to the results of their latest attempt.

Alizabeth had been reviewing the new rosters and approving the newly promoted Department Head reports when the Small sub screen on her console, usually barely active, started dancing with excitement with trajectories, and occasional calculation scenarios as the bridge became more active.

Frowning in curiosity, the XO headed there bridge. Arriving as the Captain gave her latest order, to fire, her brows rose at what she saw on the view screen. Moving up her seat, Liz murmured in amusement at Rixan, “Can’t leave you alone for a moment.” The comment was made in hopes of relieving a couple of the creases forming at the CO’s brow that face away her concentrating mind.

Sensors would show that the prospector on his EVA was moving rapidly back toward the prospector ship as they likely saw the phaser fire and explosions of the asteroids.

The latest of the detonations showed that the pieces were blasting off in a direction that would be away from any danger of themselves or the prospectors on the nearby asteroid. Furthermore, from the activity an opening had come up - a tunnel as it were that either the Endy or a shuttle could fit through to gain a closer range to the beleaguered two ships. Both ships now had lost power. A fire was showing on one near the engine room of one while the other had hull fractures from the collision with the asteroid.

Sickbay had been standing by for a while now. With Buckingham’s staff poised and ready, they were beginning to look around rather expectantly. Tom himself had begun to wonder what was actually going on. Tapping his Comm Badge, Tom said =/\= Sickbay to Bridge. Buckingham here. We’re still standing by. Any updates to out current status? =/\= He asked, hoping to shed some light on what was going on. If he knew what to expect he could better prepare his team.

Thomas Buckingham - CMO

“The asteroids are no longer a threat, Captain,” Kate reported. “It appears some sort of tunnel has opened that would allow us to close the distance to the two ships. Both are showing a need for assistance.”

Lt Trent, COS

Life sign scans were not promising hale and whole on either ship. In fact virtually all were ‘lower’ than normal and two looking low. Life support was down on both ships and given the state of the vessels they were either contained in a compartment, pod or EVA suits.

Kanto looked up from the sensor reading, and relayed the information. “I believe the Endeavor can close the distance through that gap Lt. Trent cleared. Keeping the prospectors on target lock in case of immediate assistance. They appear to be fine for now.” He started to ease the ship through the gap like he was threading a needle…
