The forcefield was stable; the area was limited in scope and the bulkheads assisted there.

Tricorder readings would see three life signs toward the bow and one to the rear in the cargo area. In the forward section there was no atmosphere where there was a pocket of atmosphere in the rear. All four were in EVA suits. Life signs were all stable, though not, shall we say, at optimum levels. The airlock would open more to the forward compartment where there had been depressurization and sealed from the rear.

=/\=No Atmosphere. I would suggest we leave our helmets on for the duration of this mission, cadet=/\= Paron said to Kingstone. =/\=Let’s see what we’re dealing with,=/\= he said, stepping into the opened airlock, still feeling the forces of the tractor beam until they got to the inside of the ship. =/\=Let’s get to the bow first, see if we can find out what we’re dealing with,=/\= Paron commented, as he headed towards that direction.

Lieutenant (J.G) Torias Paron, CoS

Mr. Kingstone, embarrassed for his error to toggle immediately his helmet, took on it again with the same speed as he took it off earlier. He would still scan with the tricorder and follow Mr. Paron while mumbling words such “Atmosphere low, 12% Oxygen, 32 Nitrogen, etc.” and swinging the scanner probe a bit there, and a bit somewhere else, alike a dog, searching for some trace of drug.
Finally he stopped all in a sudden and found something interesting on a table
=^= Sir! =^= shouted in the intercom =^= There is a fragment of a crystal.=^=
Taken the scanner near the little fragment, he looked for any hazardous effect and whether was safe to take it for sampling: the composition of the carbon matrix was not known by the Database. But some of the characteristics of this crystal resembled a bit the dilithium.
=^= It is safe. I can take it onboard, Sir?=^= asked to Mr. Paron with emphasis.

((OOC: A quick OOC lesson on some post formatting. As you might have noticed, the post got pretty long with a load of names up top, including names of people not in the scene, I’ve just cleared that up a bit so thought it would be a good time to bring it up. We use the snip tag on a thread that has many posts, some players play on the mobile devices, and scrolling can become a pain for them, so we like to snip the posts down to make it as friendly as possible for everyone to continue to enjoy playing. We also would typically get rid of all but the last few posts, so that the thread remains tidy. It’s also a good idea to clear up repeated names and characters no longer in the scene, so that it doesn’t get confusing as to where their characters are currently located. You can find this in more detail in the players handbook at https://www.star-fleet.com/library/bookshelf/handbook/posting.html - we all forget sometimes so it’s good to occasionally review these things (and I’m just as guilty as everyone else here, even moreso as the one leading the away team…)))

OOC: As another side note, some use PC’s on posting and others devices. Devices are touchy on trying to snip with so for those on PC’s please remember and have mercy on those using devices to post. :) .. Gene

IC: Feeling the shaking of the asteroid, Simon had to ensure the safety of his crew. =/\=We’re here on a time sensitive mission cadet, the tractor beam won’t stabilize that asteroid forever, we need to act quickly. We have no time to play collectibles right now=/\= Torias said, in a much more serious tone than his friendly tone - it was obvious from the way he was that he could be rather strict, a much more serious tone than in the holodeck the days before. =/\=We’re here to work, I understand the fascination, but we don’t have time, Cadet. That asteroid could destabilize at any moment, we have to be quick=/\= he said, in a slightly softer, yet firm, tone. =/\=Doctor, take the cadet with you and get to the three, Lieutenant, we’ll head to the lone wolf of the pack. At least triage the situation for the doctor. Any questions or suggestions?=/\= he asked the away team at the end, giving them an opportunity to raise any concerns with his plan.

Lieutenant (J.G) Torias Paron, CoS

((OOC: Simon, Who’s Simon? :P
Ben))

The three were holed up in the crumpled forward bridge. The away team could see them through a window in the portal however it itself was jammed. Looking inside they could see the cabin filled with a bluish green smoke, the whole forward section crumpled and the pilot area nonexistent. Shadowy figures moved and it was obvious that they had not noticed the rescue team yet. Their EVA suits were bulky, looking more like ancient deep sea suits than anything modern and compact.

On the way they could see the cracked hull and areas where plasma glowed through the cracks. Steam arose from that which would in any other situation, be toxic for sure. It cast a lurid red glow through that central area of the runabout.
