((OOC: A quick OOC lesson on some post formatting. As you might have noticed, the post got pretty long with a load of names up top, including names of people not in the scene, I’ve just cleared that up a bit so thought it would be a good time to bring it up. We use the snip tag on a thread that has many posts, some players play on the mobile devices, and scrolling can become a pain for them, so we like to snip the posts down to make it as friendly as possible for everyone to continue to enjoy playing. We also would typically get rid of all but the last few posts, so that the thread remains tidy. It’s also a good idea to clear up repeated names and characters no longer in the scene, so that it doesn’t get confusing as to where their characters are currently located. You can find this in more detail in the players handbook at https://www.star-fleet.com/library/bookshelf/handbook/posting.html - we all forget sometimes so it’s good to occasionally review these things (and I’m just as guilty as everyone else here, even moreso as the one leading the away team…)))

OOC: As another side note, some use PC’s on posting and others devices. Devices are touchy on trying to snip with so for those on PC’s please remember and have mercy on those using devices to post. :) .. Gene

IC: Feeling the shaking of the asteroid, Simon had to ensure the safety of his crew. =/\=We’re here on a time sensitive mission cadet, the tractor beam won’t stabilize that asteroid forever, we need to act quickly. We have no time to play collectibles right now=/\= Torias said, in a much more serious tone than his friendly tone - it was obvious from the way he was that he could be rather strict, a much more serious tone than in the holodeck the days before. =/\=We’re here to work, I understand the fascination, but we don’t have time, Cadet. That asteroid could destabilize at any moment, we have to be quick=/\= he said, in a slightly softer, yet firm, tone. =/\=Doctor, take the cadet with you and get to the three, Lieutenant, we’ll head to the lone wolf of the pack. At least triage the situation for the doctor. Any questions or suggestions?=/\= he asked the away team at the end, giving them an opportunity to raise any concerns with his plan.

Lieutenant (J.G) Torias Paron, CoS

((OOC: Simon, Who’s Simon? :P
Ben))

K’Resh nodded as she followed Paron towards the rear of the compartment. She didn’t have a lot of medical training other than the basic training that all officers received, but at the very least, they could hopefully get him to safety so that the doctors could get a proper look at him.

The three were holed up in the crumpled forward bridge. The away team could see them through a window in the portal however it itself was jammed. Looking inside they could see the cabin filled with a bluish green smoke, the whole forward section crumpled and the pilot area nonexistent. Shadowy figures moved and it was obvious that they had not noticed the rescue team yet. Their EVA suits were bulky, looking more like ancient deep sea suits than anything modern and compact.

On the way they could see the cracked hull and areas where plasma glowed through the cracks. Steam arose from that which would in any other situation, be toxic for sure. It cast a lurid red glow through that central area of the runabout.

Torias had seen terribly damaged ships in the past, this wasn’t the first time - but he knew for the cadets it may well have been. He watch cadet Kai’s movements carefully as they made their way towards the lifesigns of the crew. Noticing the shadowy figures he pulled up his own tricorder to confirm that these were the crewmembers that they were looking for, and began to approach carefully.

Lieutenant (J.G) Torias Paron, CoS

Moving slowly and with fatigue, Kai was again thinking about the crystal chip. Maybe it was the key to solve the mystery, but he knew they had no time. Looking Mr. Paron stopping, he took the occasion to look around the ship and saw the enormous mess: Piece of sharpen metal sheets were laid down with some rocks and pebbles, while the hull was brutally deformed. Keeping an eye on the right, he saw some blood on the bulkhead near little corridor they were starting to walk along.
=^= Mr. Paron =^= communicated frightened =^= There’s blood there. =^= indicating the dirty bulkhead.
In his head many thought were circulating, but immediately after he managed to calm himself down and keep going, with the tricorder in his right hand and the plasma cutter in his other. Nothing was wrong - for now.

Cadet Kai O. Kingstone - Scientist

=/\=That’s not blood cadet, that’s plasma, looks like one of their bulkheads cracked in the crash - it’ll be very hot so try and avoid it - thankfully the EVA suits should protect us against anything toxic here, but we don’t want to stay too long=/\= Paron quickly replied back, making his way towards the figures in the older EVA suits. He looked to see if they were armed, how many there were, and if they were conscious.

Lieutenant (J.G) Torias Paron, CoS

OOC: Just gonna cross-post the message from the bridge and respond accordingly ;)

=^=Rixan to away team, what’s your status? We may need to pull you out quick, we’ve managed to hold the asteroid steady, but it’s looking like she wants to fracture,=^=

Torias was heading into the ship when the captain’s voice was heard on the comms. Taking a quick glance around, he could see that the figures in EVA suits were most likely the crew, and began approaching them slowly and cautiously, as the ship creaked from the stress damage caused to the ship so far.

=/\=Away team to Endeavour, we have visual on what we think is the crew, approaching now. The ship isn’t going to hold for long anyway, captain.=/\=

Lieutenant (J.G) Torias Paron, CoS

Buckingham cautiously moved his tall frame through the wreckage. He held his tricorder our in front of him as he approached the three. The sooner he could get an idea of their condition, the sooner he could think up a plan of action.

Lt. (J.G) Thomas Buckingham - CMO

As the made their way through the wreckage, K’Resh kept a close eye out for anything unexpected. She could see the systems were badly damaged, most of them beyond repair. The forcefield was currently stable but she knew that if a cascade reaction were to occur in their systems, the team would have very little time to act and get to safety. As they approached the single crew member, K’Resh continued to run scans on the ship’s systems.

Lt K’Resh (CE)

The Cadet was walking in the silent chaos of the metal scratching and rumbling of the ship. After a couple of minutes, they were finally in front of the Bridge access door: it was badly damaged and only a little hole could be used as entrance. Looking in, Kai saw three semi-unconscious person in EVA suits.
=^= Bingo, Mr. Paron. We have only an issue sir, the hole is too little to make them pass. I guess we need to enlarge the passage.=^=
Taking the Plasma Cutter, he was already preparing to make space to rescue the Goldigger crew inside.
=^= Awaiting for orders, sir. =^=
Now his mind needed to prepare for the worst he could face.

Cadet Kai O. Kingstone - Scientist

Paron turned to the cadet. =/\=Before we do that, do you know what is causing the smoke we saw, if it’s flammable, using the cutter might just set the whole ship alight, we need to make sure we know what we’re dealing with. At least make sure using the plasma cutter won’t set the whole bridge aflame=/\= he pulled out his own tricorder to continue general scans of the ship, and kept an eye out for any other dangers in their path.

Lieutenant (J.G) Torias Paron, CoS

Kai was again set embarrassed for another of his errors. It was surely because it was his first Away Mission and the pressure was elevated - immediately he started to scan for the smoke and search for any flammable materials: none were ahead the bridge and the smoke was simply carbon particles, evaporated dihydrogen monoxide and pulverized debris with no presence of any flammable gasses.
To make the situation even safer, the cadet used a nearby terminal to check if in any of the stowage bays flammable items were contained: one had several barrels of Mooride Polyronite B in liquid form (harmless), the others with unidentified crystals.
Tapped his commbadge he communicated with Paron =^= Lieutenant, there’s no threat for any ignition. The flammable is too far and is in an inert state.=^=
He now awaited again for any other order from the Away Team leader before doing something hazardous.

Cadet Kai O. Kingstone - Scientist

=/\=Remember to always consider any dangers in the situation before you act, it can mean the difference between life and death at times. It’s sometimes difficult to determine, but it’s always good to quickly assess a situation first - let’s get this door open, cadet=/\= Simon responded, though still with a serious tone, still closer to what he heard in the holodeck during their archery activity.

Lieutenant (J.G) Torias Paron, CoS

Kingstone took the plasma cutter and turned it on: his first thought was “now it’s going to light something up” but luckily no flame or explosions happened. He then proceeded to cut the door as fast, but with precision, as possible and in a matter of a minute or two, the door was finally open. Holstering back the cutter in its place, Kai took the tricorder back in his right hand and started scanning while marching toward one of the three men.
=^= Mr. Paron =^= Chirped the badge =^= the Bridge is sterile and does not have any hazardous materials, for now. The man seems lightly injured. =^=
He then crouched and scanned the EVA suit for any anomaly residues. The only residues were some microscopic Gamma Radiations and human organic traces.

Cadet Kai O. Kingstone - Scientist

Once the door was open Tom followed the Cadet closely behind, eager to attend to the three people. Crouching down near the three he began scanning with his Medical Tricorder, digesting the information as quickly as he could. Looking up from the Tricorder he could see the three concerned faces staring back at him, in an effort to put them at ease and inform them of who they were Tom introduced himself.
“I’m Dr Buckingham - Chief Medical Officer of the Federation Starship Endeavour.” He spoke calmly, yet resolutely. “I and the team I have landed with are going to help you.”
Tom kept glancing at his Tridcorder as the information continued to appear.

Lt. (J.G) Thomas Buckingham - CMO

Scans of the systems in the ship showed that there was very little in the ship still active. Power still held here and there on automatic systems. Whatever automatic containment systems were in place they had helped to keep their warp drive from losing containment and going up. Plasma leaks were eating away at systems though and it was only a matter of time - time that could not readily be assessed - before something caused an explosion.

Once the plasma torch was engaged and chewing through the duranium of the hatch the three figures were moving to create a safe span from the door and the beads of superheated metal. Once the plate had fallen to the deck did they move forward but still kept a distance from the glowing edges of the fallen plate and door. Their life signs were fair. One, however, was noticeably limping and the distance scans indicated that his vitals and adrenaline were heightened indicating an injury and pain. One tapped at his helmet that looked more like impatient jabs until a comms frequency seemed to have been matched.

=^= About time =^= came the coarse reply. =^= But thanks =^=

From the look of the crash, Kai’s thought he may have seen blood could have been accurate, though either assessment was possible shy of a stop and look.

Paron kept back as the doctor made his way in to begin treatment, but kept his eyes open looking to see if any of the crew looked like they were not so happy to see the Federation come aboard the ship. Also, he started working on the pattern enhancers to prepare for transport back to the Endeavor. For any medical assistance, he left that in the hands of the cadet and doctor. “Lieutenant, let’s get these set up,” he said to K’Resh, passing her one of the pattern enhancers to help expediate the process. He was hoping this would be enough to get everybody back safely.

Lieutenant (J.G) Torias Paron, CoS

Buckingham noticed the Security Chief preparing the site for Transport. He stopped his work and approached the CoS. “Lieutenant Paron, if I recall correctly there is some animosity between the crews of the two ships.” He said, hoping he was not mistaken “Might I request a security detail posted in Sickbay please. I still have members of the other crew in there recovering and I don’t wish Sickbay to be the site of a mass brawl” An air of concern for his patients was audible in Tom’s voice.
Tom didn’t know if there would be an issue with the crew members seeing each other in person on not, he also hoped that by requesting some Security for Sickbay that he wouldn’t be wasting their time.
