Kanto let out something that sounded almost like a sigh before he caught himself. He really wished he was in his Science Lab right now, but right now, he was one of very few people on the ship that could multitask to this level, holding the ship’s position while maintaining the integrity of the tractor beam and reinforcing the shields to take the brunt of the asteroids. If that away team didn’t get those people over here soon, they might all be lost.

He did some quick mental calculations in his head. He decided that it was safer for the Away Team and the Golddigger crew if they kept doing what they were doing. “The time it would take to replicate the necessary equipment would probably be detrimental to the Away Team’s success anyway, Captain.”

“Understood,” Cassandra nodded, “Let’s just hope the away team can make it quick.”

~Cassandra Rixan~

Kanto turned back to his controls and held the tractor beam steady.

Sensors would register a sudden fault line along the near center of the asteroid. Stresses were working on that and pressures were building up there. Time was short …

The Vulcan looked concerned as he addressed the captain. “Captain, the stress on the asteroid is too much. It looks like it will buckle under the pressure soon. We may have to pull the away team out in a hurry.”

“Right, they know they have to be quick, contact the transporter room and tell them to be ready for a quick beam out,” Cassandra ordered firmly.

~Cassandra Rixan~

Kanto nodded, then tapped the intercom button. =^=Bridge to Transporter Room One. Prepare to beam all life signs from the Golddigger at the Captain’s command.=^=

Lt. jg. Kanto, CSO

NE Hans Porter replied. =^= I have a stable lock potential 15 meters from their ships. Interference levels are not that high that I couldn’t get a lock if they get the pattern enhancers up. But the interference is increasing as damage to the ships increase. =^=
NE Hans Porter

=^= I have a lock! =^= came the reply from the transporter room …

At the same time the alarm sounded on the ship .. the asteroid was breaking up and the prospector ships along with it …

The helm sounded. We have two incoming asteroids. At this range we have seconds to get shift position ..

=^= I’ve got them .. =^= came the reply from the transporter room as the visual showed the asteroid splitting and the prospector ships being crushed ..

There may even be a moment to spare to get the tractor beam on the shuttle too …

Wookiee

Kanto was waiting for the call from the Transporter Room, and immediately went into action. He deftly pushed several buttons on the console to switch the tractor beam over to the shuttlecraft, while simultaneously attempting to move their position away from the incoming asteroids. His brow furrowed, and a single bead of sweat fell down his greener than normal forehead…
