“Okay, looks like everyone is here,” Cassandra spoke after a moment, “Welcome to my very favorite part of being a CO in the Academy. It gives me great pleasure to officially promote two cadets to officer and send them out into the main fleets.”

She smiled, “Cadet Kingstone, please step forward.”

Oliver was certainly unprepared and almost spitted the water he was drinking toward the blue table. But he managed to keep it in and regain his formal posture “Aye!” He said, loud and clear and later on He consequently stepped forward at ease awaiting for for the other Cadet.

Kay grinned as she watched one of the cadets that she had gotten to know quite well step forward. While she had been privy to promotions on regular Starfleet vessels, the cadets’ promotion had a special mystical feel about it as the jumping off point of their new careers as Starfleet officers.

Cmdr Adrie, XO

This was the first time that Torias had been on the other side of the graduation ceremonies. The last one of these he attended was his own some years ago. He smiled as the first name was called. Torias knew it was deserved, after seeing him working with an away team so well first hand, and gave a slight raise of his glass toward the cadet.

Lieutenant (J.G) Torias Paron, CoS

Watching the nervous young Cadet take to the floor, K’Resh gave a hearty growl, followed by a loud clap. She knew it wasn’t really in keeping with the usual decorum of star-fleet but she figured this would be the closest she’d see to the Rite of Ascension on a star-fleet ship. She briefly considered dashing back to her quarters for a pain stick but managed to restrain herself.

Lt K’Resh (CE)

Kai, while standing in the middle of the local, wasn’t sure what he was feeling. Surely some nervousness was making his heart tremble really, really loud ,even tho, no one could hear the rumble inside his body.
The sweat was minimal, and the eyes were locked in front of him: when the time had come, he hoped that he did not do anything stupid. For the young almost Ensign Cadet, the promotion time was one of his gold medals to frame onto the wall and make proud his father by achieving his first and true pip.
“Wow, this is better than I imagined.” Oliver thought “well, everything is better when it comes for real.” And again, the only sound everyone could hear, was the engines calm and ordinary waving.

Kay smiled at the nervous cadet - no, ensign - as he received his pip from Rixan. She reached out to shake his hand and offered her sincere congratulations to him. It had been a pleasure getting to know Kingstone. “Congratulations, Ensign Kingstone,” she murmured, her smile reaching all aspects of her face.

Adrie, XO

“Congratulations Ensign Kingstone,” Cassandra smiled, extending her hand to shake the new officer’s, “You’ve done well and you’ll be an asset to wherever you’ve been assigned.”

The environment, the family sensation that now the old Cadet now Ensign, felt in his mind and body, were all amazing and he barely could talk for the emotion, babbling some “T-Thanks Ma’am” to both officers, while giving them a hand shake.

He took then his collar from the clean and well ironed uniform and with a gentle touch he passed his index finger on the shiny pip to feel it.
“I want to say…” he started, on the edge to cry like a baby for the happiness “thanks to the family I’ve entered and sustained me, this amazing crew. The seniors officers who believed in me and to the new friends I made onboard! And also, this is a goal for my father, who was contrary but also proud of me getting in Starfleet. I promise, that I’ll keep up with the work and wherever I will be assigned to make an awesome job. And for last, I hope to meet you again, somewhere in the infinite space of the universe.”
Now he could not resist anymore, and a shiny little tear was now dropping from his left eye. Then another from the right one, until he realized he was sobbing a little and so he could not stop.

OOC: thanks guys for this amazing experience! A really good 3/4 months aboard this ship with an amazing crew! Beside it is sad for me to abandon me, I hope ya all that the new cadets that will come, will be really, really good. For the rest I can finally write Ensign!!!
