“And for you,” Kaylee observed with a grin. “But I wholly approve of training being rolled into a more enjoyable experience. Maybe I’ll join you next time, it’s been a while since I’ve held the business end of anything.” She winked as she finished her statement and surveyed the group. “Well, as fun as this has been, I think it’s about time for me to get some sleep. You all probably should too; I don’t want to hear any yawning on the bridge tomorrow.”

“I was thinking it’s about time to leave, have a good evening,” Paron nodded as he stood up, “and I’ll see you later,” he said as he made his exit from Nine Forward.
Lieutenant (J.G) Torias Paron, CoS

Kaylee followed Paron to the exit of the lounge, stopping him briefly with a hand on his shoulder. “You handled that really well,” she commented. “Nice work, Lieutenant.”

Cmdr Adrie, XO

Paron turned around slihgtly when he felt the hand on the shoulder and gave a slight nod. “Thank you ma’am, after all - every time you make one of those calls, it’s never any easier,” he said, thinking about the away mission that had cost him some good officers. “But, perks of the job, I guess,” he smiled before making his way back to his quarters.

Kaylee smiled after Paron as he departed, choosing not to pursue the line of questioning he had opened up at just that moment. It wasn’t her job anymore, anyway…

Cmdr Adrie, XO

K’Resh’s attention snapped back as she had been mentally programming an upgrade of the ship’s plasma conduits in her head when she noticed most of the party had departed. “Hmm…seems I may have missed the rest of the conversation, where did everyone go?” she asked Adrie.

“I think everyone is about ready to turn in for the night,” Kaylee responded softly to the Klingon. “It seems the holodeck program after duty shifts was enough to wear everyone out. How about you? Are you ready to head off?”

Adrie, XO

K’Resh thought for a moment before a hint of a smile crossed her lips. “Perhaps one more for the road?” she suggested, hoping the XO would join her for another drink, not in any great hurry to get back to her sinfully comfortable star-fleet bed.

Kay pretended to ponder this question as if K’Resh had asked the meaning of life before giving a playful toss of her hair. “You’re on,” she commented. “Now that the cadets are gone, maybe we can talk the bartender into bringing out the real alcohol too.” She emphasized her point with a smile that was the picture of innocence.

Cmdr Adrie, XO

K’Resh grinned and laughed. “That’s more like it!” she growled as she waved over the waiter. “Bring me blood wine!” she ordered, a little louder than she had intended. “Commander?” she asked.
