Not much was happening that was interesting on the USS Endeavour. Therefore, Barvan decided to start a little telepathy class on Holodeck 1.

A message was posted in the Nine Forward as well as in other public spaces on the ship asking interested people to come to Holodeck 1 at a specified time for a telepathy class.

Cadet Barvan, Security

Eshrallias did not possess telepathy. She was an Andorian woman, her psych abilities limited to the prowess of her species. Although, as a biologist, she was intrigued by the inner workings of the body. The mind, albeit far more complex compared to the interworkings of other systems, was among her queer interests.

Slipping into the holodeck, dressed in black pantaloons and a dark grey shirt, Eshrallias searched for the instructor of this class. She would not be participating, aforementioned disabilities inhibiting her chances at success, but she would watch and learn.

Lt. Eshrallias
Scientist

He never once denied his interest.

He wasn’t telepathic, he was almost certain of it. He was however interested to see how races and cultures who possesed the ability of telepathy interacted with each other. He also couldn’t deny that it gave him something to do before heading down for his medical evaluation. He almost wondered if ten minutes would hurt his chances at making a good first impression, however had left his quarters early enough for it to not be an issue.

He walked into the holodeck, attempting to tidy his hair as he did. He always tried to keep himself presentable, his hair just had a habit of wondering. He blinked and rubbed his eye with the back of his hand, looking around for anyone else in the room. He spotted a couple of people wondering around, none he recognised. He wasn’t great with new people, something he would have to get over.

So instead he backed into the corner to wait and see what would happen.

Cadet Rook,
Engineering

Barvan walked into the holodeck after both the Chief Science Officer and Cadet Rook had entered. He arrived late deliberately because he wanted to make an entrance.

As he entered, he would wave to both of the people present. He seemed to be carrying what could be described as a 24th-century equivalent to a floppy disk.

“Alright. Two people present. This should be interesting. Allow me to first introduce myself. My name is Barvan of House Troi. I am a Cadet here, and will be your instructor for today. Given none of your are telepaths, this will be a theory session purely. I might teach defense against telepathy if you seem passable at the theory portion.”

Pause.

“I’d like to ask both of you a question first. Please tell me your racial origin, a bit about your life, your mental health history as well as any experience you may have with psychological training.”

He’d turn to Michael.

” Cadet…Rook is it? If you’d like to start, that’d be nice.”

Cadet Barvan, Security

Liz had seen the announcement and her curiosity got the better of her. She stepped onto the holodeck shortly behind Barvan. Nodding to the others she then stood back in the corner to watch and see how it unfolded. As the others looked her way, she held up her hand and smiled. “Don’t mind me, just watching.”

She didn’t have a psychic muscle in her body. She was good enough at reading people that she’d been told she had a touch of the skill most called empathy. But to her, it was just good people skills.

Reaching up to press a stray hair behind her ear, the XO listened to the class as it began.
