“More for Mason, but do we have any details that we already know in regards to this murder, any leads that we can follow up, or any that have led to dead ends so we can focus on those that haven’t already been explored,” Paron asked turning to face Mason as he drank his own coffee.

Lieutenant (J.G) Torias Paron, CoS

“I will let you be the judge of that, Lieutenant,” Mason said. he pointed to the viewscreen in the room and said, “May I?”

Kaylee opened her mouth to answer the question with what she knew from the briefing, but she decided against it given the presence of a more firsthand source here. She also turned her attention to Mason and took a sip of her tea as she waited to hear what he had to see and whether it matched up with the commodore’s briefing.

Skye poured herself a drink of water as she too turned her attention to Mason. She sipped and considered him carefully,

Linking to the viewscreen from his case, the first image was that of the Magnus Corporration insignia that matched his pin. “The mining station on Beta Aurelius 2 has been operating for over a century. Such mining has encountered peaks and dips, however it has never ceased to function. The world, or rather moon, has a nearly 92% metallic constitution and is a primary supplier of base and refined metal for the Starfleet shipyards.” He paused as an overhead view of the facility was displayed. It looked much like a spider with two large central ‘buildings groups’, each with towers likes spines jutting from it. Eight broad feeder constructions that looked like legs from the ‘spider’ ended in another tower like facility. “The make up of the facility has not changed much since it’s construction.” He pointed to the larger of the main building groups. “Ore is processed here and loaded onto freighters. There are some 3,000 employees and support workers here. The Sheriff was principally an investigator and bouncer as it were, taking care of incidents such as brawls and small theft. There was only himself and a deputy. Any other ‘legal’ overseers was in the hands of the foremen who themselves oversaw their squads of workers.”

The next shot was that of an airlock. “This is where the incident happened. Why the Sheriff was in this particular area we still do not know. He was found in this airlock that had been depressurized. The deputy, one Willis Kramer, was found sitting on the deck near the controls babbling. In custody he admitted to depressurizing the airlock, though we don’t yet know why.” The image of the deputy came up. He was in his late twenties, cornflower thin hair sitting straight, blue eyes and freckled on an oval face.” He paused for any inquiries.

Paron took notes of the various areas that were bought to the crews attention, and already thought a babbling deputy to be an odd occurence. “Did Mr. Kramer have any medical history, or was this “babbling,” as you call it, something new?” he asked Mason.

Lieutenant (J.G) Torias Paron, CoS

Kaylee listened carefully to Mason’s briefing, as it contained information that was new to her even after her communication call with the commodore. She nodded her agreement with Paron’s question and added one of her own. “Was the deputy tested for the presence of any foreign compounds?”

Adrie, XO

“These were shots of Mr Kramer as he was apprehended and in custody,” he said. The two images showed him first sitting on the deck, back to the bulkhead with his face vacant, looking exhausted with dark circles about his eyes and his otherwise bony face lax. “That is how he was found by emergency staff,” Mason replied, then switched to the next slide which was a short video in their sickbay. Willis was strapped to a bed and straining at the restraints. “His adrenal levels here were at high levels, then, after a time, simply stopped. A few hours later they returned. After a day of this back and forth he was sedated and apparently remains so. ” He looked to Adrie. “He was tested and, surprisingly it came up negative. However, our medical staff are not precisely Rhodes Scholars. MagCorp is hoping that you will be able to shed some light in this with any further tests you have.”
