______________________________________ BACKGROUND:

Lexi grew up in a happy home with her parents and three sisters in Tel Aviv, Israel She always enjoyed science in school but struggled with math. Her family is Jewish but they only loosely follow the religion attending synagogue for only the most religious events.

Alexandra is a single mother. She had planned on a career in Starfleet yet when her daughter was born plans changed. She only has two more years on her enlistment. When that is over she plans to return back home to Israel and raise her daughter there.

Alex took the commission on the USS Atlantis because she wanted to have a larger crew for her and her daughter to socialize on and because it was closer to home than her previous ship making trips to Israel easier.

______________________________________ EDUCATION/CAREER:

Education: Alex always found her mom's job interesting but liked the science aspect of Gal-Ex instead of sales. She loved to spend time in the lab that tested new plants and microbes to come up with new medicine. She worked as an intern for Gal-Ex when she was 16 and 17. She loved the field aspect of the internship and loved the extreme conditions where life could thrive. After graduating high school she applied to the Academy.

Parents: Levi and Ester Garfield have been married for over thirty years. Levi is a privacy professional and owns a small company called Hamsa Holdings. Ester is a pharmaceutical lobbyist for GalEx.

Hamsa Holdings - The company name is based on an ancient Middle Eastern ideology that states the open palm with the eye in the middle symbolizes the Hand of God. Throughout history it has been associated as a protective symbol bringing happiness, luck, health, and good fortune to those who own it.

Gal-Ex Pharmaceuticals - Gal-Ex is a Federation based pharmaceutical company whose purpose is to provide advanced medical care and improve patient outcomes. Our belief is that all people deserve to live healthy lives. This drives our desire to provide access to medicines that are safe, effective, and affordable.
