Character Biography

Name: Korak son of Kal, house Vorek
Rank: Lieutenant
Occupation: Chaplain
Race: Klingon
Age: 103
Height: 2m (6’5”)
Weight: 125kg (275#)

Description: Korak is an unusually large Klingon male in his late middle years. Like most of his race he is still hale and hardy. He has greyed to an even tone of both beard and hair, both worn full with his hair usually pulled back in a warrior’s knot. He has an olive complexion with green eyes. He sports a scar from his left forehead and bisecting his right eye. The eye is intact but the upper and lower eyelids are notched.

History: Born and raised in the mountains on Kronos, and classically educated by the family tutors, Korak was groomed for leadership. His family’s connections would have fast tracked his career if he had just been able to keep his head down and kill everything in sight; but he just wasn’t that kind of Klingon. His service in the defense forces was honorable, if not outstanding. After 35 years of service he took his leave and retreated to Boreth joining the followers of Kahles. Leaving the Guardians temple he rejoined the defense forces during the Dominion war, again serving honorably but without apparent distinction. After the war, he found his way to earth via Vulcan, and began studying comparative religion and philosophy.

Medical and psychological history: Korak sports a fair number of healed injuries, though nothing unusual for a Klingon warrior in his middle years; though his physicals typically note low arsenic levels, for which he is advised to drink a small serving of “tea” every morning. During his training with Starfleet he was treated for several injuries attributed to “training,” though it is Starfleet medical opinion this is normal for Klingons.
Psychologically, Korak is a well-adjusted Klingon, if particularly contemplative for his species. He does exhibit some symptoms of paranoia; though it is hard to tell if this is racial, pathological or with-cause.

Training and qualifications: Korak has low but acceptable scores in science, Engineering and medical, with above average security and tactical skills. Despite his otherwise low scores in the sciences in general he shows high aptitude in both psychology and sociology. Klingon command skills do not translate well, but training notes indicate some talent. Korak is a competent counselor once one gets past his imposing appearance and nature. Surprisingly, Korak exhibits some talent for diplomacy – and his skills in hand to hand make up for any failures he may in that area.
As qualified Clergy, Korak qualified to attend officers candidate school and the Star Fleet Chaplaincy program at Starfleet San Fransisco.he was granted the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade in light of his experience with the Klingon military and his performance in training. serving an additional tour with the Academy Chaplains Corp Korak proved his competence assisting Staff, Cadets and their families with not only there spiritual needs but their other social advocacy needs as well.
Promoted to lieutenant upon assignment to the USS Ogawa.

Security note: The real reasons for Korack’s emigration are unclear, but at least one attempt on his life is suspected to have been made while in federation space – an investigation is sill pending.

Personal note from the Chief of Operations, Starfleet Chaplain Core: Korak is an anomaly, but he is genuinely concerned for the spiritual health of his charges, is remarkably open-minded, and exhibits a willingness to meet them more than half way.

Excerpt letter of recommendation, Commandant Starfleet Academe SanFrancisco. “Mr. Korak has proven to be an invaluable resource, not only in his duties as one of my Chaplains, but as a guest lecturer on Klingon society and military culture.”
