Curriculum Vitae
Even though Deep Space Nine, especially during the Dominion War, wasn’t what most people would consider an ideal place to raise a child, that was where her parents still worked and lived when Riani was born in the middle of the Dominion War. For most of her life the station remained her home, till the whole family moved to Bajor when Ria was 16 years old.

It was on DS9 that Ria found her passion for science, physics in particular. She became sort of a protege of one of the science officers, an Ensign by the name of N.N. During those hours spent together another seed was unintentionally planted: the dream to join Starfleet herself.

Yet joining Starfleet would mean leaving her family and her home behind, and for the longest time she didn’t think she could do that. Yet after many conversations with her parents and some gentle nudging from their side, Riani enrolled at Starfleet Academy in 2392. Yet during every holiday that was long enough, even if just slightly, she returned home to her family.
