Character Biography

Birthplace: Mak’ala, Trill

Physical Traits
When you first set your eyes upon Kala the most obvious details about her are the identifying Trill spots which symmetrically run from just of centre of her forehead around her brown eyes eye’s, disappearing in her dark brown hair. Reappearing down the side her face cheek, running off downwards over her shoulders, past her breasts and all the way down to her feet. The spots a slightly lighter than most but are still very obvious.
Kala isn’t very tall, standing at 1.67m or 5 foot 4 inches she compared to most men short, her fiery personality makes up for it however. Her face is Oval with a matching set of brown eyes and a straight slightly upturned nose. Connecting her nose to her full lips is a prominent Cupids Bow.
Her figure is athletic and is even slightly muscular, Kala is sporty by nature and this is reflected in her muscles, acute curves and complimenting breats.

Body Art
Other than her spots Kala has no other distinguishing marks of features.

Personality
Kala, named after her father much like her brother Kal is a young and ambitious woman with a fiery personality. She has worked hard to be where she is, leaving Trill to attend Starfleet Academy against the wishes of her family who believed she should have remained on Trill to become Joined and fulfil their families long line of symbiotic relationships which Kala had always expressed she did not want.
She is completely dedicated to Starfleet and is an up and coming Engineer.

Hobbies and Interests
Kala has a number of interests and hobbies which include playing the violin and piano. Physically Kala enjoys Parressis squares and other contact sports, she also enjoys running, swimming and cycling. During her time at the Academy took part in a triathlon.

Ambitions
It is Kala’s professional ambition to become a valued member of the scientific community, long term Kala one day hopes to achieve the rank of a Starfleet Captain in command of a scientific vessel. Her personal ambition is to create a close circle of friends and enjoy the relationship of her to be found soul mate.

Orientation
Kala is still young, in her pre-adolescence she hasn’t yet been romantically attached to anyone, she would consider herself as heterosexual however not having ever been exposed to anything else she couldn’t truthfully answer.

Federation Standard, Klingon, Romulan and Vulcan.

Education
Kala’s education was all completed on Trill with the exception of the 2 years she spent at the Daystrom Institute as an under study before going to Starfleet Academy.

Background and History
Kala was born a twin alongside her sister Lianna in the Summer of year 2371 to her parents Kalzen her father and Nery her Mother. Born to a relatively respected family both girls had an educated upbringing surrounded by loving families and friends. Both were expected to carry a symbiont which is where Kala’s and Lianna destiny’s finally diverged. As children they were inseparable but at the age of fourteen Kala had grown an interest in space travel and science, she was the most inquisitive girl in her class and could always be found looking through trill scientific research pages.

Given that Kala had been destined to become joined she has done most of her pre-joining training and was medically cleared to host a symbiont however Kala objected to the procedure and opted for a different path which would be to join Starfleet. Outraged her father disavowed Kala and told her never to return. to her family home.
Kala’s mother and sister however were more sympathetic and though still displeased continued to keep in touch with Kala as she left Trill and travelled to Earth. Wanting experience Kala’s Trill education was enough to become an understudy at the Daystrom institute for two years under the apprenticeship scheme for young potential scientists looking to join starfleet. Kala loved every day she was there and had taken quickly to her new environment. Sadly however the two years had to end and Kala had to again move from a place of comfort to somewhere new which would be the Academy.

Taking to the academy well in her first few months Kala decided quickly she would continue her interest in science and eventually took majors in Science and Medical, though she was a better scientist she became a more than capable doctor too. During her time in the Academy Kala had built herself a reputation at being both physically and mentally capable when she joined the paresis squares team and accomplished four triathlons in her time one for each year she was a student. She wasn’t overly popular overall but still held high stature withing her peer group and was liked by her instructors.
