Middle girl in large family she was raised with a keep up or get out mentality. Father had been a Marine until wounded in the line of duty and her mother devoted her whole life to taking care of the family.

Every one of the five siblings entered Academy or Fleet in some capacity. Being the middle child and the only girl, Kady “Kadydid” to her brothers, became the go between between the older and younger boys as well as between the kids and dad. She seemed to instinctually know when to push and when to coddle. And once in the Academy, herself, went into the field of security figuring her background would suit her best there.

It turned out she spent more time talking and consoling than practicing her weapons and fighting. One of the teachers took notice and recommended the Counseling program.

That was all it took. She excelled in the field and graduated top of her class. Her oldest brother still thinks to this day she could have been first if she hadn’t been so polite and willing to let others take the spotlight.

After her first duty station, an Intel officer took note of her and recommended her to the Ops program. She wasn’t aware she was being interviewed for the program when orders came to head for a station on the back side of the Moon. She was told she would be a Counselor there for miners and other space crew injured in the line of duty. While there, she discovered a wing of the hospital where Ops soldiers were recovering. Their night terror cries drew her and soon she was spending all her free time there.

That’s all the needed to see.

A month later she was given the choice… stay with regular Fleet or join the Black Ops. She didn’t have to think twice and signed the documents that afternoon. All she told her family was she was going into Trauma Counseling and that meant deep space stationing because there was where she was needed most. Dad and most of her brothers understood. Her youngest brother didn’t and was a constant thorn in Ops side for most of her first year gone. Constantly writing and comms wondering why his sister wasn’t allowed to contact him. He finally died down when she reached out and assured him she was fine. In the last 3 yrs, it’s been fine.

She specializes in hard cases. Those with black marks, forced retirement, or mission survivor’s guilt. She knows when a smile works but also isn’t afraid to throw a punch (in a spar) to get her point across.

An avid running and scrapper, she doesn’t do well in open hand to hand. But if her back is to a wall, or to the floor, she can hold her own till help arrives or other opportunities (such as death to her assailant) are approached. She has a few kills of her own under her belt. None of which she feel guilty for beyond the fact she feels the unnecessary loss of life from anyone is a waste.

She is also a dancer. Ballet keeps her limber and able to bend and fold as the situation demands. Both figuratively and literally. More than once she has simply ‘slipped’ out of some sticky situations. And she is not above womanly wiles, either. She was trained to use all her assets in her professional capacity as a Counselor and in her survival capacity. These skills have helped her as a Counselor as well. Especially towards men. But she does equally well with the couple women she has helped.

Her fear is imprisonment. The idea of being alive, and caged, or trapped, fills her with leg freezing, mind numbing terror. Shuttles and small two man craft aren’t a bother because she knows she will walk away. Turbos are fine as well. They don’t cross the 15 min threshold into her the ‘start to panic’ mode. The same panic hits when cause in combat situations where her arms or legs get pinned (Bear hugs, some wrestling holds) and is why she will try and not spar with someone if she doesn’t have to. In the couple occasions its occurred. The other person was severely injured due to adrenaline pumped panic response.

34-35 (present) Stationed on Earth at Ops rehabilitation center. She deals with deep space traumas. She active asset.

While she is trained in counseling, she still does elimination assignments for Ops. Her abilities with men makes her especially honed for these assignments. She’s able to change mine, gain trust and then get close enough to eliminate her targets without their fear or worry rising till it’s too late.

While on the Wolverine she got called to an assignment. After it was finished she’d misjudged her exit strategy and needed extraction assistance. The XO of the ship, at the time, was also Ops and involved with her. He came to her rescue and assisted with the loose ends so she was able to close the assignment as ordered.

The success of their duality lead them to believe they would be more effective as a team. Unfortunately, Kady was suddenly reassigned when a mining team returned from deep space with severe trauma from a run in with a super nova. The unexpected explosion crippled their mining vessel leaving everyone in cryo till they were rescued two weeks later. A malfunction in cryo meant everyone was semi lucid and aware of surroundings, but unable to wake. Several of the team recovered but a few will never leave Earth again.

Kady still does elimination contracts off Earth. But she hasn’t been reassigned to space duty in a year.

She and the Wolverine XO are no longer in contact and she’s turned solitary.
