Character Biography

Freja was raised on Earth, by her paternal grandparents after the deaths of her parents in the line of duty when she was seven years old. As her grandfather was a Starfleet Admiral, she grew up predominantly in the San Fransisco area. From an early age, Freja aimed to join Starfleet when she finished her primary schooling, encouraged by her grandparents who both served. Her paternal grandmother retired with the rank of Commander in Starfleet Medical.

As Freja is three-quarters Betazoid, people generally mistakenly assume she is empathic like other half Betazoid individuals, she is actually telepathic. As expected, she developed her telepathy in adolescence and benefitted from her full Betazoid grandmother teaching her to manage her abilities so as to fit in with Earth society.

After finishing primary schooling at age 16, she took a gap year and qualified for entry to the Academy at seventeen. She chose the security/pilot career path, graduating with honors and commissioned as an Ensign on the USS Tereshkova. After spending some time as a security ensign, she finished her fighter pilot qualification and was reassigned to various fighter carriers throughout the fleet, eventually working her way up to squadron leader. Eventually she was offered the opportunity to switch career paths again to the command track.

Her first command position was First Officer on the USS Yukon, after which she also served on the USS Armstrong before being promoted to Captain and assigned the USS Chimera.
