Psychological History:

Bradar is typical of the temperament of the Antican species; that being excitable and easy to take offense. That being said, he has made great progress in mitigating these tendencies through prolonged self-educed exposure to other species and cultures. He also studies many social and species-specific norms in order to anticipate potential issues.

Biography:

Born to a pack-family on the planet Antica in the Beta Renner system. Despite the decentralized nature of society on that planet, Bradar still managed to become a well-known student in the school system. He showed great aptitude in math and science, and this was cultivated by the Central Pack. His academic success on Antica culminated in his being selected as the planets only applicant to Star Fleet Academy. He was selected and he and his father went to Earth. There, Bradar said his goodbyes and spent the next four years at the Academy.

His first two years were difficult, as the social morays of Academy life were strange and complex to him. But he learned quickly, and eventually even made a few friends. Most, though, were put off by his species dietary practices and their aggressive nature.

Graduating the General Studies Segment in the middle of his class, he opted for the Science Division. Here his natural aptitude for math and science began to show, and soon he was a class-leader both academically as well as socially. Scientific minds were quick to see his ‘eccentricities’ as a species-specific matter, not a reason to alienate the student. With a new-found sense of inclusion, something the pack nature in him craved, his academics excelled and he graduated second in his class. He specialized in energy manipulation, radiation, and boson particle distribution in celestial bodies. This expertise made him invaluable in ship simulations, where he was adept at scanning and interpreting data quickly. His abilities helped lead his Academy team to finish first in the Simulation section of the practical exams.

Assigned to the USS Maui for his Cadet cruise, Bradar quickly made a name for himself by correlating recent binary star radiation scans the ship had made with an unknown energy signature picked up by the USS Galloway some eighty-five years before. Extrapolating that data, Tressex was able to prove the binary star had only entered synchronous orbit within the last half-millennia. This explained the unstable nature of the stars, and helped cut time off of the vessels study. When the Maui returned to Earth, Tressex was promoted to Ensign and assigned to the USS Ogawa. When a former classmate of his wondered why he would be put there, Tressex reminded him that radiation was a specialty of his. Maybe that was needed. Whatever the reasoning, Tressex was excited about the posting and left a few days later.

Soon after arriving on the Ogawa, Tressex found himself as the highest ranking Star Fleet officer in the section with the unexpected departure of the CSO. Asked if he would accept the responsibility, Tressex reluctantly agreed and was promoted and made Chief Science Officer.
