William Hampton

Character Biography

Appearance:

A lanky body frame with a light skin tone. Will’s black is kept combed back at all times. He is slightly thin for a man of his height, but not noticeably so.

Personality:

Hampton is a very outspoken individual. While not an extrovert, he is very comfortable with stating his opinions and beliefs without consideration for what his actions may cause. He is steadfast in his beliefs, and views his own attributes, particularly intelligence, as superior to those around him to a degree of clear arrogance. He has very little empathy for others and is focused more on his own well being than those around him. He believes his actions, thoughts, and opinions, until explicitly proved otherwise, are correct.

Biography:
Will was born into a starfleet family and lived on multiple starbases. He was the youngest of three. He grew up with his siblings until the age of eight, when they and his father were killed in a Jem’hader Attack during the Dominion War. His mother survived the attack and was forced to raise him herself. The year he joined the Academy, she died as well. The attack greatly impacted William’s perception of others and his perspective on galactic politics as he came of age. As Hampton made his way through the Academy, he found that he was in disagreement with many of Starfleet’s principles. In particular, Hampton discovered that his own experiences had led to him to believe that force was more important than diplomacy. Furthermore, to Hampton, rather than exploring the universe, Starfleet’s top priority should be maintaining its technological advantage over other known galactic powers. This belief drove him to engineering, particularly weapons design, as he decided to do his best to make sure that Starfleet is still on the cutting edge of technology. After graduating the academy, he has served aboard several starships as an engineer, carrying out his own purpose while serving Starfleet.
