Character Biography

Appearance: Watley is a small, slightly pudgy man in the latter years in his service, and it shows. He has white, thin hair which is completely by his equally white mustache which covers his top lips. His skin is increasingly wrinkly. And his voice his most comparable to a hoarse groan. His eyes are a tired blue, and his skin is of a pale complexion.

Personality: A man who has served for over thirty years, Watley is a tired old man who is winding down his career, his attitude reflects that. Prefering to focus on his work, the old man’s once active and social personality had slowly transformed into one of solitude. Maxwell no longer worries about advancing his career, or making strong friendships with people up chain of command. He mostly keeps to himself and his alcohol in his free time. Maxwell also happens to be a confident man who does not enjoy being talked down to or coddled by his younger colleagues and coworkers.

History: Born on a starship and living the vast majority of his childhood on one. Watley has grown accustomed to that lifestyle and is uncomfortable when staying on planets for extended periods of time. Having one sister who did not join starfleet and never marrying, Watley has no family to speak of. Even while Watley has served in Starfleet for thirty years, he has little to show for it. Joining as an ensign and rising only to the rank of Lieutenant. Watley is a capable, but overly cautious man. His career is riddled with passed up opportunities. Watley served for several years aboard various ships, and was promoted to full lieutenant ten years into his career. He has never advanced farther, as he was scared and shied away from heavier responsibilities. His career has been reduced now to simply a traveling an officer who fills in for roster voids until permanent replacements can be transferred.
