Character Biography

Chief Medical Officers Log:

The operation appears to have been a relative success. The unknown biological agent used in the assassination attempt on General Orin appears to have been neutralised without causing fatal damage to the symbiont itself, although sadly the host quickly expired.

Political ramifications aside, the decision to utilise my research assistant as a temporary host appears to resulted in the survival of the symbiont. Unfortunately, Daizi Orin as she must now be known, has not reported any change in her own mental state, but we must hope that in time she gains access to the memories of the symbiont, given General Orins’ extensive knowledge of star fleet special operations and clandestine missions currently ongoing.

The Symbiont appears healthy by all known measurements and appears to have fully interfaced with the nervous system of the host, however, it appears to be dormant, perhaps from trauma suffered during the attack or as a result of the biological agent used. It is too early to do anything but hypothesise, however it could well be that the agent used was specifically tailored to attack the Trill Symbiont itself, a worrying development if true.

I will continue to monitor the health of both Symbiont and host. I have been informed that a delegation from the Trill homeworld is most anxious to have access to the patient but I will leave that matter in the hands of my superiors.
