History:

Stanislaw Wisniewski (Stan to most, Stach to close friends) was born in Warsaw, Poland on Earth, the son of Tadeusz Wisniewski, a policy analyst for the Federation Diplomatic Corps, and Dr. Maria Wisniewska, a Professor of History at University of Warsaw. He was the couple’s middle child and only son, with an older sister, Katerina age 23, and a younger sister, Joanna, 15.

As a child, Stan always thought it was funny that his father worked in interstellar affairs but mainly did so from Earth rather than out in space. When Stan was 10, his father attended a diplomatic conference on Starbase 39-Sierra and Stan successfully lobbied to accompany him. Going on that trip convinced Stan that he wanted to pursue a career in Starfleet, so that he would have the opportunity to encounter new lifeforms and new cultures firsthand.

Stan entered Starfleet Academy at the age of 18 studying to be a science officer, with a focus on anthropology and archaeology. Stan was also a member of the Academy’s racquetball and ice hockey teams, and was known to be a good cook who grew many of his own vegetables. During his third year at the Academy, he was assigned to the USS Challenger as a Science Officer, his first starship assignment. Upon graduation, he was assigned to a junior science officer position about the USS Ark Angel.

Medical History:
No major illness or injuries aside from a dislocated left shoulder as the result of a sports injury during his second year at the Academy.
