Character Biography

Physical Description:
Asher is in his prime considering he is on the wrong side of 35, he has greying medium length and stable which he insists on keeping to give him an approachable look. He has brown eyes set upon a slightly tanned face, with his nose convex pointing down to his cupids bow and thin pale lips. Standing at 5ft 9 at 90KGs Asher is lean though not the tallest, often this has its advantage when being a counsellor as opposed to being overbearing and muscular.

Characteristics:
Asher goes mostly by his nickname Ash, people tend to gravitate towards him due to his kind and empathic nature putting the needs and thoughts of others often before his own. He is well mannered and educated with a vast knowledge of the human and some non-human psyche making him a great counsellor. Cool under pressure Asher had served in Starfleet as a security officer prior to becoming a counsellor giving him first-hand experience of PTSD and other combat-related stresses in which are his specializations however Ash is also very diverse into Family Disputes and Victim Recovery.

Personal and Service History:
Born to his parents Juliete and Michael Miller Asher early on in his childhood showed aspirations to join Starfleet, he wasn’t always the brightest and his exam scores only meant that he was only just accepted however during the Academy he began to prosper. Asher showed interest into several fields including Medical, Science and Security before finally deciding on security as the better fit.

After his time at the Academy Asher was posted to the USS Melbourne as a Junior security officer where he soon began to learn the ropes of life on a starship, something he soon picked up on was how lonely it sometimes felt and often he found himself organizing team get-togethers or simply finding himself chatting to the ship’s counsellor another factor that would change his career forever would be the sheer amount of officers who were suffering from PTSD as a result of the Dominion war which ended a year before he was finally posted to a ship.

After serving on the ship for five years Asher returned to the academy Lieutenant JG in which he competed the course and gained the qualifications to become a Counselling officer. With the Dominion war still having a lasting effect Asher found that he quickly began to specialize in PTSD and other war-associated mental health injuries. Asher also found that Family disputes and victim resolution was another field in which he required serving on a starbase which is where he found himself posted post-graduation with a promotion to Lieutenant JG.

Asher spent a further five years on the starbase where he further refined his skills before being posted to a more active long-range vessel the USS Portsmouth in the Delta Quadrant upon receiving a further promotion to Lieutenant as the ship’s Asst. Chief Counsellor. His time in the Delta Quadrant was certainly difficult dealing with different new races, new problems and a new crew. Each challenge Asher himself had to overcome his own mental health concerns but with the aid of the crew which turned to friends Asher’s time in the Delta Quadrant began to ease towards the end of his term.

Four years into the term Asher finally returned to the Alpha Quadrant where he was again promoted but not in rank but to Chief Counsellor aboard the USS Einstein a science vessel tasked with scientific studies of several races beginning similar to Human neanderthals to better understand their own history and to document their development. Asher spent three years during a relatively quiet term dealing with mostly long-distance family disputes but mostly assisting in the science research. His new station, however, would see him be promoted to Lieutenant Commander and with the prestigious role of teaching the new batch of counsellors at the Academy.
