Physical Appearance:
Seb stands slightly below average height, broad shouldered and of an athletic, muscular build.

His face is clean shaven, with pale complexion, blue eyes and black wavy hair that is kept short. On his face are several scars, the most prominent or which cuts through his right eyebrow vertically.

Character Background:
Sebastien ‘Seb’ Petrov was born on the Federation colony of Archer IV to Olivier and Marine Petrov. His ancestors were amongst the earliest colonists to the planet and by the time of Seb’s birth were a prominent family amongst the planetary elite. From a young age Seb grated against his privileged upbringing, driving his learned tutors and parents to despair as he would regularly neglect his studies in favour of physical pursuits and ‘slumming’ around the shipyards. In stark contrast, his elder brother Robert was a gifted, hardworking student, who through a mixture of family connections and personal talent was accepted to Star Fleet Academy at only eighteen.

Through his late-teens and early adulthood, Seb was not without his own promise. He was not only an excellent wrestler and fencer but also an all-round athlete, demonstrating discipline and drive when properly motivated; even if his grades were consistently poor-to-mediocre. He would have several brushes with the law, mostly for brawling and disturbing the peace; these were quietly swept under the rug due to his well-connected parents but further created a rift amongst his family.

Seb was twenty when his elder brother returned from his first posting with Star Fleet, their reunion was icy as Robert took the plaudits whilst Seb was totally unaccomplished in comparison. Keen to mend the rift, the brothers took a trip in a shuttle commandeered by Robert to Archer IV’s polar region. The journey would end in tragedy, as a power malfunction forced the small shuttle into an emergency landing in a remote area. Robert was mortally wounded, while Seb would escape with both legs broken. When rescue finally arrived, Seb was found cradling the body of his brother, experiencing the onset of frostbite.

As a result of Robert’s position and the family’s connections, Seb was provided care and rehabilitation at a Star Fleet facility that would last three standard years. With the encouragement and care of a Vulcan Doctor named Vil, he would make a remarkable recovery, demonstrating a renewed determination in his work to restore his physical prowess and even a return to study. Perhaps through some dedication to his lost brother or in gratitude for his care, Seb would apply to Star Fleet Academy, where he was accepted through the recommendation of Vil and her senior officers.

Time will tell if this misfit has what it takes to thrive in Star Fleet, or if his rebellious streak will win out in the end…
