Character Biography

—Appearance—

Teebo is a squat and stocky reptilian keb, a genetic offshoot of the rarely-seen rolyan. His barrel-shaped body and legs, stubby tail, and blocky head give him a very ponderous and slow-moving appearance, but Teebo is very spry and agile when the situation dictates. His small beady eyes smolder with intense focus and not a small amount of cunning, though overall he can be quite aloof. Teebo’s scales are a dull brown with a scintillant tan underside.

—Personal History—

Teebo spent most of his life on the southern continent of the rolyan homeworld tilling the fields of his broodland. A tenth-generation agriculturalist, the keb plied his trade with gusto and dedication until a chance run-in with Ferengi smugglers changed the course of his life. While swimming in his favorite pond after an exhausting day, Teebo was mistaken for local wildlife and “collected” by hunters hoping to make some latinum.

His captors quickly got rid of the keb after Teebo disabled the locks on several cages in his attempts to find a way off their vessel. Stranded light years from home, Teebo survived on his own for months before stumbling upon a Terran colony. Not being able to communicate directly with the colonists despite universal translators—something to do with the keb dialect and its conceptualism—it took Teebo another few moons to convince them he was not a harmful creature or a thief. Once the misunderstandings were cleared up, he found himself a useful part of the community plying his former trade.

Thought largely unable to communicate with the colonists beyond grumbles and gestures, Teebo mananged to make a handful of friends. One of these colonists, a leathery retired engineer named Wattly, even managed to tutor the keb in the base sciences. Over the course of a decade, the two learned to intuit one another well enough that they cobbled together a limited-scope positronic translator. Through the use of this Personal Intelligence Translator—or simply Pit—Teebo was able to integrate better with the colony; while the translations were often blunt and strange, they were sufficient to open Teebo up to a wider world of learning.

Some years after Wattly passed away, leaving the keb the modest algae farm the two had operated. As a final act of kindness, Wattly had put in a good word with a few of his old associates at Starfleet, suggesting Teebo for the Academy. While some special accomodations and concessions had to be made to host Teebo, he nonetheless performed his services with a modicum of aplomb. The keb’s knack for understanding various abstract scientific concepts gave him an edge in his engineering exams, and he managed to scrape by as a graduate.

—Medical Record—

Though Starfleet’s records on keb physiology are somewhat limited, Teebo is recorded as a rather robust and healthy specimen. Due to his stocky nature and dense frame, the keb enjoys an extensive lifespan and hearty constitution. Like most saurian races, however, Teebo tends to be a bit sluggish at milder temperatures.

—Personal Timeline—

CONS01: “What the…?” — It’s his first day aboard the USS Constellation and already Teebo is making an impression on the ship’s crew… as a curiosity. Checking in with medical has never been so awkward!
CONS02: “Take Me To The Zoo” — From Breen to Klingons, Teebo had assumed he’d seen his fair share of formidable opponents. That is, until he came snout to muzzle with an arch nemesis for the ages: a savanna cat with more energy than a warp core! Now it’s keb versus beast in a battle for dominance. Who will win, and who will be be furniture?
CONM01: “Little Pod of Horrors” — When the Constellation stumbles across a defunct life pod tumbling through the vacuum of space, it’s up to Teebo and the crew to discover its origins. Not only that, but they must unravel the mystery of its mysterious and silent passenger—a man frozen out of time for reasons unknown.
