Hair: Dark Brown/Balding
Height: 5’ 10”
Weight: 175 lbs.
Father: Narev Jesuua (deceased)
Mother: Kelsey Odinson
Place of birth: Dawn’s Breaking (Orion Pirate ship)
Narev Jesuua was the Orion captain of the pirate vessel ‘Dawn’s Breaking’
On one of their raids, they attacked and boarded a small, civilian cruise ship headed for Risa. On board was a young Earth woman named Kelsey Odinson. As the ship was relatively small, the pirates took all the survivors with the intent to sell them as slaves. Narev took an instant liking to Kelsey and decided to keep her as his own. What started as a slave/owner relationship, eventually turned into a true love (think ‘Beauty and the Beast’).
Kelsey was slowly turning the dreaded pirate into a civilized man, much to the dismay of his crew. The final straw came with the birth of their son, D’vash. With the news of the birth, Narev’s men mutinied. Those loyal to Narev were able to hold off the mutineers long enough for Kelsey and the newborn D’vash to reach an escape pod and avoid capture. As the pod sped away, the last thing Kelsey saw was Dawn’s Breaking explode. The pod was eventually rescued by a Federation starship (the USS Mjolnir–coincidence?), and she and her son were returned to Earth.
D’vash grew up listening to stories about his father’s daring escapades, told to him by his mother. The stories were somewhat embellished as she wanted her son to believe his father was a noble man, and not the kind of Orion pirate most civilians had heard about. She had been able to save a number of Narev’s logs and use these to tell stories to D’vash, while at the same time, unintentionally teaching him about the Orion Syndicate and ship’s tactics.
With these stories in his head, D’vash was determined to get into space himself. The best way to do that was to join Starfleet. At the age of 18 he was accepted into Starfleet Academy with the intention of becoming a flight officer. He had inherited his father’s flying skills and became an excellent helmsman.
As time went on, his knowledge of the Orion Syndicate came to the attention of Starfleet Intelligence. When he was questioned by members of that department, he confessed that his father had been a pirate, and he made a habit of studying his father’s surviving logs and journals. With this revelation, he was recruited into the Intelligence field.
He began his first tour as a helm/Intelligence officer aboard the USS Inquisitor stationed along the border with Orion and Klingon space. After four years as a junior officer on the Inquisitor, he was promoted to Chief Intelligence Officer of Starbase 12 in the same sector. During this time, he was responsible for causing the disruption of many Orion pirate raids and trafficking routes, as well as many other illegal Syndicate activities. As an intelligence officer he was well versed in many languages including, but not
limited to: Orion, Romulan, Klingon, Ferengi, and Dominionese.
Eventually, his reputation grew among the Orion Syndicate and it became harder and harder for him to continue his job with the success he expected of himself. He began to grow frustrated by this lack of success and eventually requested and was granted a transfer to Starbase Magellan. Along with this transfer came a promotion to the rank of Commander and the position of XO of the base.
After a brief posting on Magellan, he was once again ordered by Starfleet Command to infiltrate an organized smuggling ring by going deep undercover. After the successful completion of the mission, he was appointed to the USS Olympic as the new Executive Officer with the sudden departure of both the CO and XO. By the time the Olympic was decommissioned in 2396, D’vash had grown restless with a desk job and desired to get back into the field. He was offered and accepted the position of Chief Intelligence Officer and CRIT Leader on the USS Atlantis.
D’vash has suffered numerous injuries in his career as an Intelligence operative. The most severe being a completely crushed left lung as a result of being stabbed by a traitor on his Intel team. He survived the incident (obviously), but received an artificial lung in the process.
