Character Biography

Born on Earth in 2373 to a secretary and a teacher, David Schultz’s early life was largely ordinary and uneventful. For the longest time he was satisfied with his pedestrian lifestyle and rarely wanted for much more than he had. However, this changed one day when he met a young Starfleet officer on shore leave in his hometown. David remembered the young man from school, but only just. He had seemed like most of the people David knew; he was modest, quiet, and had an exceedingly normal air about him. But now, he was different. David heard him telling former classmates incredible stories about his time serving on a starship. They were so incredible that at first David found them hard to believe, but as the officer went on and provided details with incredible clarity, David realized he had to be telling the truth. As he sat and listened, David slowly turned his eyes up to the stars. For the first time in his life, David Schultz dared to dream of a future outside of his small town. The thought of being a part of something bigger then himself had never before occurred to him, but now it filled him up and seemed to lift him off the ground. Later that night, David announced to his shocked parents his plans to apply for Starfleet Academy. He had no idea what he would do or where he would go, but he knew that the promise of discovery, adventure, and the unknown was an itch he had to scratch.
