Education: Evie graduated Starfleet Academy with a science degree specializing in Botany and Ecology. Over her career, she identified two new plant species. One is an aggressive carnivore while the other holds medicinal use. They are:

1. Nepethes mcgarrettis Nepethes mcgarrettis is a carnivorous pitcher plant that produces a beautiful white rose like flower twice a year. If the plant is touched or disturbed, small spaghetti like tentacles come out the sides. The tentacles are similar in look and function to that of a jelly fish. These tentacles have small serrated leaves that work like teeth. These teeth can easily slice through human flesh. Evie keeps one for a houseplant because she loves the color and bears the family name. All of her children have several small scars in the tips of their index fingers from daring each other to touch it. She has named the plant “Eloise” and it sits in her kitchen window.

2. Diphylleia grayi ravi, Diphylleia grayi ravi, also known as the skeleton flower, has white petals that turn translucent with rain. When dry, they revert to white. When the petals are steeped in hot water, they release a chemical compound similar to amoxicillin, which works like a low dose antibiotic.
