Davenport’s first job after graduating from the academy was working with a team of serious medical professionals on board the Nexus. During an 18-month science mission in the far end of the Beta quadrant, he put his academy-honed skills to the test. Harvey was particularly intrigued by pharmacology, the study of medication and its uses, which he believed would provide him with the most practical experience on a science and exploration vessel.

After serving an 18-month tour on the USS Nexus, Lieutenant J.G. Harvey Davenport was assigned, to a permanent posting on the Caliopi. As a young doctor, he was thrilled to join the Caliopi’s mission of exploring the Gamma quadrant and providing aid to races that were left destitute by the Dominion. Harvey spent nine years on the Caliopi, rising from Lieutenant J.G. to Full Lieutenant. During this time, he participated in numerous missions, providing medical aid and assisting in medical advancements for various species across the quadrant.

Having completed multiple successful tours on the Caliopi, Davenport desired a change of pace and opted for a more scholarly career path. As a young Lieutenant, Davenport accepted a position at Starfleet Medical and participated in various research projects focused on creating non-addictive pain relievers.

Early Life and Upbringing
Harvey, who hails from Great Britain, comes from a lineage of medical professionals that included scrub nurses and dentists. Medicine seems to be a natural calling for him.
Harvey was an only child born to Dr Genevieve Davenport, a surgeon, and her husband, Dr Stephen Davenport, a pathologist. Both of his parents worked at Starfleet Medical on Earth. Unfortunately, Harvey lost his mother at age seven during the early stages of the Dominion War. She was serving aboard the USS Crimson at the time.
After Harvey’s mother passed away, his father retired and took on the responsibility of raising him on his own.
