Character Biography

An orphan, who never knew her parents, Patrice grew up dreaming of a brighter ‘tomorrow’ despite her ‘hard knock life’. She always wanted ‘more’, whether it was friends, food or knowledge. Growing up on Earth near San Francisco, she watched countless Cadets leave on Starships, and dreamed one day of being on her own ‘castle in the clouds’ and of working out ‘where is love’ … but ‘Little People Grow’ …

In exchange for odd jobs, she has been taken in by a kindly old couple, who have seen that she get an education. Her mind has been shown to be extraordinary, and she’s completed studies in multiple fields of science.

The couple packed up everything and moved across the quadrant to ‘the lamest place’ in the Federation - Oed V. I mean she’s just about to turn ‘13’ and her life has just gone to pot (Note: https://writingexplained.org/idiom-dictionary/gone-to-pot).

But not all is a loss for little orphan Patrice. She has a plan, and when it works out, everyone will say ‘All Hail the Brain’ but until then, she has ‘a little more homework to do.’ But her plan won’t be complete, until she ‘gets her name in lights’ and it is ‘her and the sky’.

Her ‘parents’ Bonnie Wesley and Clyde Grey couldn’t be ‘Bronwyn and Clive’, ‘collectors’ of antiquities and suspected members of the Orion Syndicate, could they? No, of course not, nothing to be concerned about here … but if so … why are they enquiring about housing with a basement?
