Biographical Notes
A. Background Summary:
Born on Andoria, Shivan was more or less like any other kid. He was good in school, he had friends, and he was generally well behaved. There was one problem: from an early age, he had quite the temper problem. And that’s by Andorian standards. He got in fights over small offenses and was often in trouble for hitting other people. By his teen years he’d become better at controlling his temper problem, and that meant breaking something instead of someone else’s face. He managed to get through school without getting expelled from any of them, though he was suspended a few times.

When Shivan was eighteen he applied and was accepted to Starfleet academy, where he studied to be a tactical officer. What interested him was the weapons. He wanted to be a weapons officer. However, two years into his education, he got into a fight with another cadet and later that week there was an incident where the person he’d had a fight with got shot with a phaser. Shivan was blamed for the incident and booted from the academy. Had the cadet died, Shivan would have been charged with murder. He was lucky to get the punishment he did. (20)

Still wanting to… well, shoot things in space, he began working on civilian cargo and transport ships. But it wasn’t enough for him. He found himself bored with going back and forth on the same routes, earning little for his work. He jumped from ship to ship as his crewmates grew tired of his temper. His descent into piracy came when he got the idea to skim some of the cargo for himself. He was good at covering his tracks. The thefts were never traced back to him and fencing the goods he found easy. (23)

It did not take long for him to grow bored of it. He left the cargo and transport business voluntarily and joined a crew of four other pirates on a small ship. Their methods were to chase down and board their target vessels, and then shoot anyone who resisted, but not necessarily kill them. (25)

He stayed with that crew for two years. The ship they attacked was surprisingly well armed and three of his crew were killed. He and their pilot retreated and got away, but the ship was badly damaged and they found themselves hiding out in an area known for pirate activity. With no ship and no crew, Shivan and the pilot ended up going their separate ways.

Shivan spent six years aboard Pavlajia before the crew left one by one until no one was left. From there, Shivan continued to handle individual jobs on his own. For three years he jumped from crew to crew, stowed away on freighters, or stole shuttles to get around and complete jobs. He drifted aimlessly from job to job with no real goal, making just enough to pay his dues to the syndicate.

His most recent job went wrong, he lost the goods and the person who hired him came after him. Intent on fleeing, Shivan procured a false identity as an honest member of freighter crew out of a job.

B. Personality Summary:
Shivan is generally “chill” as one might say. He likes the thrill of what he does and hates being bored. His temper is one of his most notable traits. His “chillness” goes only until he is offended or angered and then his temper will flare.
