Character Biography

Short biography:
Kajhel is the only child of Limag (mother) and Bassin (father). Growing up on the Aenar Compound in the Northern Wastelands of Andoria, Kajhel and his family moved to Paris, Earth, when Kajhel was 11, as Limag received employment for the Federation Council. Being on Earth was a new experiment for Kajhel, and his first experience meeting other species (humans mainly). The family returned to the Aenar Compound when Kajhel was 14, after Bassin’s father (Sattan) became ill. Three years later, Kajhel decided he would seek out strange new worlds, feeling trapped underground in northern Andoria, and applied to Star Fleet Academy. His early teenage years on Earth shaped him to want to see the galaxy.

Personality:
Extraverted, and somewhat neurotic. Has a curious nature, but has always seen himself as an odd-ball. Likes puns (his name is pronounced, roughly, “cudgel”, which he takes great joy in given his new job as security officer. Thrives on laughter. Likes humour and jokes. Somewhat messy.

Sensitive to speciesism and human dominance. Has suffered speciest bullying in school in Paris.

Physiology:
Above-average physique (for Aenar), strong, quick reflexes aided by his “telepathic echolocation”. Blind like Aenar, but uses his eyes to detect light and darkness. Good hearing which was developed on Earth. Flexible.

Skills:
Speaks Aenar, Andorian and Federation Standard. Tried learning French in Paris, but did not seem to be able to pick it up. Studies Vulcan in his spare time, and is interested in Vulcan culture and spiritual and logical ways. Learnt Standard Andorian in school in the Aenar compound.

Like most Aenar, he has a highly attuned telepathy in so far that he can actually read people’s conscious minds/thoughts, and with some extra concentration, discern memories (though it is easier if the person getting read receives prompts in the direction of that particular memory)

Values:
Although instilled with a pacifist core belief system, Kajhel stands by Starfleet codes and regulations. As a security officer, Kajhel believes the best security is done by avoiding dangers and difficult situations.

As revealed in posts:
- As a child, he enjoyed catching ice-bores with his friends.
- As a child, he also enjoyed making ice-flutes (filling pipes with boiling water and letting them freeze quickly on the surface, then drilling a hole right through the long part of the pipe, and then holes on top of it, to be used for the fingers)
- Is nervous around the idea of people judging him for his telepathy
