Name : Ael Aihia
Gender : Female
Age : Thirty-Five
Species : 50% Romulan, 50% Human
Birthplace : Ki Baratan, Apnex Sea, Romulus
Rank : Captain
Assignment : USS Dauntless
This woman looks more so like that of Vulcan, than she does that of a human. The human within her greatly denounced the characteristic ‘v’ shape found upon the forehead of most Romulans, as it is nearly invisible to the common eye. She has a well muscled stature from her years of training and experience within the security field. Her eyes are a pale grey, and her hair is long, curly and brown.
A force to be reckoned with, Ael presents herself a cold, analytical woman. Although there are many layers to her, most don’t have the luxury of seeing them. Aihia is a complex person, the clash between her human and Romulan heritages making themselves most apparent when she couldn’t need them less. She is altruistic, albeit enigmatic. Conscientious albeit skeptical. Her contradicting halves forge a perplexing shape.
Aihia is a very strong minded woman, and is unafraid to speak what is on her mind, especially if it concerned those who a part of the crew she serves with. She has no noted mental disorders nor descrepencies, that can be shown prominently on the surface. She hides the fact that she occasionally recieves nightmares concerning her family and Homeworld, but that is mostly submerged.
Ael is a woman of great strength, mostly due to the Romulan which runs in her veins. However, her hybrid nature does make it difficult for her on various levels. Namely, with her blood type and what would be proper vitals for her. She struggles with an immune deficiency, which makes it difficult for her to fight of any major illnesses. Pretty much anything a step up from the common cold. Otherwise, she is considerably healthy.
Ael was born to a human female by the name of Sarah Aihia (an Archaeologist) and a Romulan male by the name of S’sek (a Romulan soldier). She was born and raised within the city known as Ki Baratan, which was also the capital city of the Romulan Star Empire.
Within her youth, she took great interest into the act of battle and fighting. She spent most of her time studying battle tactics, and how others of her species.. the Romulans fought, when it came to hand to hand combat. She paid attention within schooling and got good grades, however, it was hardly her focus.
When she came of age, she joined the Imperial War College, where she would have trained along those of the Romulan race.
However, she soon found that the ways of the Romulan military force was far too brutal for her liking. Her father insisted it was due to her human weakness, while her mother assured that even Romulans had the sense of what was right. Either way, she dropped out of the college and opted for something that she thought was the better alternative for the same goal. Though it was the enemy of her people, Starfleet.
Even though peaceful relations were beginning to arise, they still were not the best of friends. So when she told her parents she was going to train to become a Starfleet Officer, she was practically disowned.
Upon her finishing of the Academy, at the age of twenty two, she continued on as a Security officer, steadily climbing through the ranks. She spent much of her free time in solitude, honing her skills in hand to hand combat and otherwise. She used the immense displeasure of her father as a fuel in order to push her further and past her limit, so that she could grow.
Over the years, she experienced her own issues, having disagreements with her department heads and her Captains. She knew, in many instance, that she had been right, but they were far too close minded to bother listening to an Ensign.
Thus, she found herself in constant trouble, either because she said something that ticked a person off or because she made a move that she knew would be beneficial but was debunked because it hadn’t been done before or didn’t work before. Of course, she did have her moments where she was wrong and she accepts that. However, she did her damndest to be adequate, eventually getting promoted to the Chief of Secuirty, where people finally started listening to her.
Over those years, she grew to become respected for her accomplishments in design blueprints for new technology and mechanisms to increase effciency. She still made mistakes, but she also became a teacher and a student, for it went both ways, for her. She was a woman with grit, someone who wouldn’t let anything set her back.
At thirty two terran years old, she had found a hopefully permanent home with the Dauntless and its crew. At the age of thirty-five, she was promoted to captain of the Dauntless, where she now remains.
