Backstory:

Gwanwyn was born in Machynlleth, a rural town in Wales governed by the Powys county. She was born to a nurse (Carys) and a firefighter (Craig). The ‘middle’ child in a family of 4 children, first to be born was Ellis, then Gwanwyn, and then Mali and Elain (twins). Gwanwyn was very close with her siblings, but found it easier to get along with her older brother.
Gwanwyn grew up watching her mum work in a local hospital, often having to join her at work as her father was also working very hard. She quickly gained a passion for the medical field, and did everything she could to be accepted into a medical school.
Once she had graduated, she thought long and hard about where she wanted to go work. And eventually found out that the academy were accepting medical students.
