Dr. Rahm Vesta

Character Biography

Physical Description: Rahm Vesta is a plump and pleasant-looking Bajoran woman with curly salt and pepper hair and a wide, gap-toothed smile. She has a scar on her left eyebrow and a series of artificial right legs.

Bio: Born during the Bajoran Occupation to a family of theater owners-turned-collaborators-turned-double-agents, most of Vesta’s early life was surrounded by intrigue–her family hosting entertainments for the Cardassian oppressors on one hand and channeling money to the Resistance and refugees out of Bajor on the other.

During this time, she became known as a field medic capable of battlefield triage, having lost her right leg in one particular mission to get refugees out of a Cardassian convoy when she was 20. She grew her skills as a field medic in her fight as a minor part of resistance fighting.

Her father died of heart disease during the occupation, but her mother Zara and older brother Faro continue to operate the theater to this day.

After the end of Occupation, Rahm Vesta went to medical school as an adult and worked with the children of the Occupation as part of the Bajoran Militia, where she began a working relationship with Star Fleet. She attended and graduated the academy and served during the Dominion War.

After the Dominion Wars, she travelled for a time as an ambassador and storyteller promoting Bajor’s full entry into the Federation up until the early 2390s–occasionally taking on teaching roles in resistance and field medicine–when she was asked to serve as CMO aboard the USS Challenger, where she could continue her work guiding and nurturing their young crew–sometimes to the chagrin of her young crew.
