Character Biography

Appearance:
Eulailia possesses a medium brown skin tone that beautifully complements her deep, dark eyes, accentuated by naturally long lashes. The presence of dimples in both of her cheeks adds to her charm. Her natural hair boasts black, coily springy curls that cascade down to her shoulders. Upon meeting her, it becomes immediately apparent that she exudes an air of perfection. Her flawless figure, captivating face, lustrous hair, impeccable teeth, infectious smile, captivating eyes, and even her elegant hands and well-groomed nails contribute to this impression. It is noteworthy that her parents vehemently affirm that she has not undergone any genetic enhancements or alterations before or after conception.

As a result of her extensive travels across the universe, Eulailia has encountered repulsive creatures that are occasionally consumed as food by other beings. Consequently, she has chosen to follow a vegan lifestyle, limiting her diet to vegetables and other natural foods, with the exception of replicated food. Initially, she faced challenges adjusting to food from the replicator during her first ship assignment. However, over time, she managed to adapt to it and become accustomed to the replicated meals.

Background:
Eulailia “Laila” Thuryi Dacascos was born in San Francisco, Earth, to Starfleet Admiral Eugene Dacascos and UFOP Diplomat Lailia (Thuryi) Dacascos. Raised in a sheltered and privileged environment, Eulailia enjoyed a comfortable life due to her parents’ doting attention. Conceived with the help of advanced technology, she was their cherished only child, receiving constant protection and care.

Growing up, Eulailia accompanied her parents on their frequent travels across the Universe, living on various planets, starbases, and outposts in a single Earth year. This unique upbringing fostered her cultural fluency and a keen understanding of different languages, although her speaking skills in those languages remained limited. Under the watchful eye of her parents and their security detail, she thrived in a high-quality lifestyle, receiving an education in diplomacy, political strategies, and governmental protocols. Her mother ensured she had proper immunizations and access to the best medical care due to the constant travel.

However, Eulailia’s sheltered life hindered her ability to develop healthy social interactions, especially with other children. Her overprotective upbringing led to her being seen as annoying by her peers. Whenever she faced minor injuries or mishaps while playing, she would cry until her nanny arrived to comfort her, gaining her a reputation as a “crybaby” or “tattletale.” This isolation caused her to become an outcast among the other children, further reinforcing her feelings of being different. Over time, she learned to adapt and fit in by suppressing her whiny tendencies and avoiding being the one who always reported misbehavior.

Within her protected world, Eulailia was considered a “golden child” by her parents. She cherished moments spent with her father, assisting him with tasks related to his work, which instilled in her a strong work ethic and determination to see things through. While her parents expected her to accompany them on trips and be a symbol of their unity and bond, Eulailia joined Starfleet to gain independence and break free from their grasp. This decision also fostered her sense of justice and a deeper understanding of the importance of hierarchy and command structures.

Despite initial challenges in her academy training, Eulailia’s ambitious attitude and refusal to give up allowed her to persevere and graduate. She started her career on the USS Discovery as a yeoman, serving as an information/communications officer on the bridge. Over time, she climbed the ranks, becoming the Chief Information Officer and eventually the Chief of Operations on the Asimov. Eulailia possesses a “think before she acts” personality type, often overanalyzing situations, which has proven beneficial in avoiding poor choices.

While not particularly academically gifted, Eulailia compensates with her common sense, social skills, and strategic thinking. She is known for her inquisitive nature and penchant for asking questions, ensuring accurate assessments when providing guidance or making decisions. Her ability to keenly observe and interpret behavior, such as facial expressions, voice tones, and body movements, makes her an ideal negotiator or interrogator. Her mother once acknowledged that Eulailia’s true strengths lie in her perceptive abilities rather than superficial qualities, emphasizing that in a universe filled with diverse beings, appearances hold little significance.

Overall, Eulailia is a determined and adaptable individual who, despite a sheltered upbringing, strives to make her own mark in the world and overcome any challenges that come her way.

Personality:
Eulailia is a conscientious individual who values the opinions of others. She places significant importance on understanding why someone may have negative feelings towards her and actively seeks ways to address and mend those situations. Growing up with parents who held esteemed positions within Starfleet and the Federation, she has always felt a sense of duty to present herself as the daughter of an ambassador or admiral. Consequently, she expects to be treated with the level of respect commensurate with her rank, whether she is serving as a yeoman, Ensign, or Lieutenant Commander.

Fun Fact:
Eulailia has fascinating familial connections. She is a third cousin to Surra Almikaz through her maternal bloodline and a second cousin to Najma Moreino through her paternal bloodline.
