Character Biography

Sifeda Elaan Itri was born in the same Romulan prison camp that Lt. Worf had visited centuries ago when he went searching for his father. Sifeda’s mother, a scientist who was headed to a Starfleet research outpost, became stranded on the planet with several of her crewmates when their ship’s propulsion system failed and they got caught in the planet’s gravity. After unsuccessfully attempting to send a distress signal and contact Starfleet, the women crashed on the planet with only a handful surviving, including Sifeda’s mother. The surviving women were rescued or captured by the Romulan prison guards. They eventually integrated into the Klingon - Romulan camp society. Sifeda’s mother married one of the Romulan guards and Sifeda was born there.
When she was 16 years old the Starfleet, USS B. Jordan, was exploring the area discovered the camp on the planet, landed, and offered anyone who wanted to leave the camp passage on the starship. Sifeda took the opportunity and left but her mother stayed behind in the camp with her father. Although Sifeda’s departure from her parents was amicable and loving, after leaving the planet she never heard from or made contact with her parents again.
She enrolled in the Starfleet Academy, went on the study at the Science Academy, and then switched course and enrolled in the Engineering academy and eventually trained as a security officer.
After graduating from the academy she served on the USS Toussaint first as a helmsman, then a security officer, and finally as a shuttlecraft pilot whose primary duty was to rescue and extract away teams from dangerous planets. It was during her service on the Toussaint that she met her current husband, a Klingon, who was also her Commanding Officer, named Se’noj MaHvatlh.

Appearance:
Sifeda has dark skin, hazel eyes, and straight black waist-length hair which she keeps parted in the middle and pulled back into a low and intricately twisted bun. Her pointy ears give are the only indication of heritage since she does not possess the trademark Romulan V on her forehead, therefore she is sometimes mistaken for a Vulcan.

Skills:
While Federation Standard is not her primary language she can speak it quite well. Since she grew up around Romulans and Klingons, she is fluent in Klingon (tlhIngan Hol as well as the script pIqaD) and Romulan (Rihannsu) and these are her primary languages.
Sifeda is stronger than the average human female and is knowledgable in all the customs of the Klingon and Romulan cultures. Also having attended the science academy competent in the Starfleet science and technology and can take on the role if needed.

Fun Fact: Sifeda is a distant cousin of Najma Moreino and LeKeitah Naisyr through her Human DNA.
