Character Biography

Samikah Ylyes Jaxsyn was recruited by the Coalition of Planets to take part in the United Earth Space Probe Agency program as a medical officer thanks to her skillful medical background. Originally trained as a nurse practitioner and living in the African Confederation on United Earth, she worked as a Health Technologist and a Genetic Counselor in the private sector before becoming a medical officer for United Earth Space Probe Agency. She had no idea what the organization was all about or the amount of work that went into being an officer. Mikah suffers from moderate astrophobia and severe clausaphobia so traveling off planet was a lot harder for her than anyone could imagine. During her training to go into space by the organization, she had to do test training flights into outer space, in very small shuttles. Mainly for this reason she immediately regretted her decision and almost dropped out of the program. However her pride made her stick it out and with the help of colleagues, she managed to cope with her fears on some level. Mikah ended up enjoying her time in the program, even more so after she received an opportunity to go work on OED V as a glorified assistant to the Director of Medical Services.

Background:
After her father relocated the family to earth when she was 12 years old. Although it was an exciting time for Mikah as it was her first time interacting with any other beings outsideof Halanan society, her excitement quickly changed to fear when their shuttle was attacked by space pirates. This left her extremely fearful of space travel and thus she never left Earth until she was recruited by the Coalition of Planets.

Even with her Astrophobia she always felt the need and urge to reach beyond the boundaries of Earth and her fascination many different types of cultures is what really propels her to overcome her fear of space travel and tight spaces. She is especially fond on humans, and see some as having similarities to Halanans.
Mikah also discovered it was easy to get along with others because she had a gift of knowing the right things to say, which is the resultof her posessing some telepathic powers, a skill she will no doubt utilize to advise her new boss on OED V. She was born with psycho projection abilities which she utilizes to check in with her sister (vice versa) and weak telekenetic abilities. Additionally Mikah does have some odd triggers that will cause her to feel annoyed toward the perpetrator. This includes those who tap their fingers on any surface and eating loudly.

Mikah has an identical twin sister named Samandah (Mandah) Jaxsyn who is also trained and works as a nurse in the United States of America in the civilian sector. She is very close with her sister, some believe they are telepathically connected however she nor her sister will confirm it with anyone. They always celebrate their birthdays together and while Mikah’s fear is Astrophobia, her sister suffers from Aquaphobia or a fear of water.

The whereabouts of their biological mother is unknown to them. She disappeared shortly after they were born, leaving their father to raise them on his own until he married his current wife. The girls were around three years old when their father remarried.
They have two half-sisters who are twins as well and two half-brothers who are also twins. Each set of twins always kept to themselves and always completed their chores as a pair.

Mikah has the tendency to rearrange things when she is worried or nervous. Her other interests include physical fitness, and all areas of medical science, especially DNA analysis. She has more unorthodox interests as well such as the belief that merpeople exist somewhere in the vastness of the universe and a large shoe collection. Samikah wants children but does not want to be married, so she has considered adopting once she retires.
