A. Background Summary:
Amalia was born in Springfield, Illinois, where her parents homeschooled her. She was friends with the other kids in the neighborhood but overall spent her childhood quite isolated and ended up reading a lot. When she was seven, she picked up the hobby of collecting geodes, which led to her later career choice.
When she was fourteen, she went to a career fair, where one of the presenters was a Starfleet officer. It inspired her, and when she turned eighteen she applied for the Academy’s science program.
