While McKenzie Lovejoy was growing up, her sister Sara Lovejoy was assigned to be the Chief Engineer on the USS Chernov. Sara Lovejoy is a Lieutenant Junior Grade as well and McKenzie is really proud. Although, McKenzie is a Lieutenant Junior Grade on the Merrimack.

Before she was assigned to the Merrimack, she was at Earth SpaceDock working on the station as an Ensign to Lieutenant Junior Grade. She then had her orders to be transfered to the Merrimack as Lieutenant Junior Grade as Communications Officer.

Before she was assigned to Earth SpaceDock, she was in the academy. While being she was at the academy, she had studied a lot of different courses in the academy. He major study was being a Communications Officer. McKenzie never knew it would come to the point of graduation but she graduated.
