Physical Description:
Mthunzi Nkosenye is a giant of a human, standing well over the norm at 2. 18 meters tall (7‘2”) and weighing an impressive 173.27 kg (382 lbs.). He is extremely well muscled. His skin is as black as human skin can be naturally. He maintains a shaved head; and his body is covered in ritualistic scarring from the various rites conducted in his religious pursuits.

Medical History:

Subject presents with little history of injury or illness. Subject is exceptionally healthy for one of his species and age.

Psychological Profile:

Mthunzi Nkosenye is a very unique individual. At first glance, he is extremely intimidating. He carries himself with singular purpose and focus, and has an air of intensity about him that almost palpable. He rarely smiles, and is not prone to idle chit-chat. He posses an extraordinary will; a will that allows him to maintain focus and endure truly disturbing amounts of physical discomfort and pain. He is dedicated to his ideals and does not suffer bullies or willful ignorance well. Outside of those, he is extremely patient. He possesses a great deal of intelligence, and that coupled with his will makes him a veritable force to try and stand against.

All of this is, of course, only a single aspect of the man. Mthunzi also possesses a great appreciation for the beauty and splendor of nature… no doubt due to his upbringing. He has a very good sense of humor, but shows that only to those he most trusts. He is skeptical of new acquaintances and is slow to develop relationships. This is due to an ingrained sense of self-isolation and the need for his own ‘space’. He is well suited to isolated duty or prolonged space-based assignments as he does not dislike being alone for long periods of time.

Biography:
Mthunzi Nkosenye (Ma-THOON-zee Nik-oh-SIN-yay) was born in Ulundi, KwaZulu-Natal. He was raised by his parents, both university educated scientists (his mother was a Medical Doctor and his father an anthropologist) who raised Mthunzi along with his seven brothers and sisters. Mthunzi was the eldest, and as such a great deal of responsibility fell upon him from an early age to help in the raising and caring of his siblings. This ranged in scope from feeding and clothing to tutoring and taking to school.

Education was of paramount importance in the Nkosenye home, and Mthunzi was an apt pupil; although not as diligent in his studies as his parents had hoped. He grew very strong physically; and enjoyed more physical pursuits like rugby, cricket, and hunting. Mthunzi was often distracted by outdoor activities, and more than once disappeared for several days into the wilderness. He became friends with one of the park rangers who began teaching the young man not only how to hunt and track, but also some of the more traditional arts of the Zulu people; such as weapon-making and fighting. His father, the anthropologist, encouraged this activity as he thought it was wise for Mthunzi to know about his people and their culture.

His knowledge of the surrounding areas would be called upon in his fifteenth year when a young woman vanished from her home in the city. Local law enforcement determined she had been taken, and tracked the suspect’s vehicle to the borders of the wildlife refuge. All of the experienced trackers were called in, and Mthunzi’s mentors tasked him with helping. They searched the refuge for two days, and then stumbled upon the woman and her abductor. The called in the local police, who found and rescued the woman, but the suspect fled. Mthunzi tracked him for over a day until he cornered the man in a ravine. The two struggled, but due to Mthunzi’s large frame and training, he overpowered the man and held him until the police caught up to him. In thanks, the woman gave Mthunzi a necklace with a pendant made from water buffalo horn which he still wears at all times. Additionally, the local police Chief took a liking to Mthunzi and, over the next several years, worked with him in the hopes that the young man would become a police officer. Mthunzi excelled in the training, even becoming a reserve officer and Detective in order to participate on their shooting and martial arts teams.

Nkosenye went to the Police Academy right out of high school, and it seemed all was on track for his future. But that would change when he caught the eye of a Starfleet Academy instructor during a inter-Academy competition. Mthunzi so impressed the Commander that he was asked to attend Star Fleet Academy. Mthunzi discussed the opportunity with his parents, and soon left for the Academy. He graduated with a specialty in Security, and was assigned to the USS Orlando. Here he would garner a reputation as a stern but fair officer; one who rarely smiled but applied himself with vigor to all tasks set before him. Soon he was promoted and made the Assistant Chief of Security. He again impressed his Commanding Officer, and was sent back to the Academy for Division Command Officer training. He was then was sent to Star Base 1 for real-time experience. Soon he was deemed ready for field work and was assigned to the USS Franklin as the ship’s Chief Security Officer before being moved to Star Fleet Headquarters to serve as a Fleet Security advisor. His career progressed rather swiftly from there, ending with a three-year tenure as the Executive Officer of the deep-space exploratory vessel Musashi.

At this point, Nkosenye was approached by FedSec and offered a position to join their ranks. After much consideration, Nkosenye agreed. He was moved to Inactive Reserve status with Star Fleet and became a FedSec Special Investigator tasked with criminal investigations in remote areas of Federation space. In his tenure with the agency, he has developed a sterling reputation as a no-nonsense investigator with a great deductive mind. He has investigated smugglers, slavers, drug dealers, extortionists, and more. His closure rate is close to 97%, and the conviction rate for cases he investigated and assembled evidence for is 100%.
