Ciaran Donoghuei

Character Biography

Ciaran is from Callander Scotland. He comes from a long line of ranch owners. As far back as Ciaran has heard, his family have been ranchers in Callander. He was the first child ever from his family to not follow in his father’s footprints to be part of the ranch. Ciaran was always more interested in the stars and how things worked rather than doing things on the ranch. He was always involved in fixing the machines for the farm and not actually doing anything with cows and crops. He decided when he was 14, he would one day join Star-fleet to travel the stars. He always wanted to be an engineer as he always was interested in learning how everything worked and fixing things. After he finished secondary school, where he excelled in math and science, he entered Star-fleet academy. This was not pleasing to his parents or his family but it is what he wanted to do. There was nothing which could stop him.

During Star-fleet academy, Ciaran excelled, as he did in secondary school, in engineering, specifically with Programming. He started taking additional courses during the year because doing the normal speed was boring to Ciaran. He double up on courses and completed his Engineering at Star-fleet in a very short period of time. He was then assigned to the U.S.S. Glenn. He was a junior officer for the engineering department for a number of years. After 8 years, when the Chief Engineer of the U.S.S. Glenn retired, Lt Donoghuei was promoted to the Chief Engineering position. Ciaran very much enjoyed working in engineering but after a number of years, he was ready to learn more about command. At this time, Lt. Cmdr Donoghuei was taking command staff training. His command staff training started at the age of 36. It took him just over 2 years to complete the training. He was ready to take his next steps in star-fleet and become an executive officer.
