Character Biography

Background: A long-time nurse and caretaker, sometimes people have referred to Ruth Rutherford as a bit of a Nurse Ratchet, but that could not be further from the truth. In kind, she’s a curmudgeonly caregiver, and she’s seen so much Starfleet non-compliance that she’s sick of it.

Sure, the officers gets to fire their little pew pew guns and the doctors get to save the day, but who’s refilling ice water and making sure the Vulcan in Bay 7 isn’t ripping out his IV? Ruthie Rutherford.

Appearance & Attitude: Ruthie is a small ball of nervous energy, like a little chihuahua or poodle with those big, wet eyes–but this one has a lot of spark. She’s seasoned and seen a thing or two, but she knows her style: sculpted blonde updos that stay meticulously in place and being able to stare down a 6‘5 Klingon for bleeding all over her Sickbay.

Background: Muddy. She’s been transferred all over the place as a travelling nurse. Who knows where she’ll show up? She was in the fleet during the Dominion Wars. She spent a couple years on the USS Vajra in Cardassian space and on Starbase 375 in the Kalandra sector.
