Hair - Short, black

Eye color - Blue

Body Features - Than is a tall and slender Trill, quietly spoken and unassuming yet possessed of quick reflexes and an alert mind. He wears his hair very short, is clean shaven and makes an effort to appear tidy and well presented. His face is narrow rather than wide with a short chin while his eyebrows are slightly bushy. He has an angular nose that accentuates his face. His spots are dark and are quite noticeable, running down the side of his head and body, including his arms and over the lower half of his hands.

______________________________________ BACKGROUND:

Than was born in Yadal Province, on the planet Trill. An only child to his parents, Kolan and Lara Osedi, Than did well in school and his parents had him play a number of sports although he was more interested in quieter past times like reading, camping and fishing than the team sports his parents adored. 

As a teenager he developed an interest in the Sciences, and in particular the mechanical sciences as the local University was an important research center for robotics and terraforming development. Once his initial schooling had finished he was accepted into the Yadal Tertiary Institute of Technology where he began to study Nanotech Sciences alongside the standard technology sciences. 

Eventually, in 2384 his application to Starfleet Academy to become a Starfleet Engineer was accepted and he left Trill for the first time in his life to attend the Academy on Earth. 

Once graduated, he initially served on the U.S.S. Broadsword and then the U.S.S. Saracen as part of their Engineering staff where his solid performance and focus on his duties earned him a steady reputation as a reliable and promising Officer. Promoted to Lieutenant while still serving aboard the Saracen, he turned down offers of assignment as a Chief Engineer a handful of times due to his commitment to the Ship and its' crew.

Thans' medical files are relatively clear. They record a number of sports injuries including a broken thumb, torn Achilles tendon and broken nose but aside from the expected childhood illnesses, are uninteresting up until he joined Starfleet. After that point, his records include a small number of 'incidents' including a bite from a large reptile, a stab wound from a bat'leth, broken ankle from falling off a horse on a Ranch on Earth and being bitten by a rattlesnake, and finally, concussion from being hit in the head by the boom of a sailing ship.

Often described as an overthinker, Than is an introvert who often keeps to himself more than seeking socialization among groups of people out of boredom or idleness. This has not impeded his work as an Engineer or as a member of a team, nor his ability to lead a team. His trait of overthinking often leads to him having a solution for an issue before the person bringing it to his attention has finished speaking.
