Character Biography

Appearnce: A petite woman with a reddish-brown complexion and pear-shaped figure. Rosa has wavy, grey- brown hair that she likes to wear long. She was born with larger eyes and a hooked nose. Her left eye is a cybernetic prosthetic, and her right leg is a prosthetic as well.

History: Rosalinda ‘Rosa’ Maria García was born on Earth’s moon in the year 2943. Her father was a family medicine doctor.

When Rosa was younger, she wanted to become a singer. But she went through nursing as a back up career. She was later recommended to join Star Fleet, and served as a nurse in for 4 years. She completely lost her right leg in the Battle of Wolf 359, and it was replaced by a prosthetic. Because of her injury she was reassigned to serve as a psychiatric nurse at a penal colony. With a recommendation from Dr. Whilhelm, the colony’s Head of Psychiatry, she returned to school, joining Star Fleet Medical and began studying to become a full fledged doctor.

Dr. García started her residency, once again aboard a starship just in time for the Dominion War. During the war, she lost her use of her left eye from radiation exposure. It too was replaced with a cybernetic prosthetic. This time, however, she refused to be reassigned due to her injury. Instead accepting a transfer to a counselor’s position.

Having years of experience in medicine, counseling, and psychiatry makes her a prime candidate for leadership positions aboard a smaller vessels where she can fill multiple roles.

Personality: Rosa is overall very cheerful and upbeat. Due to her years of experience, she is skilled at improvising and working with what she has. Very few things panic or surprise her. Even when under pressure she can remain calm and collected. Though she can also come off a little harsh, and doesn’t mind being strict with difficult patients.

Rosa loves telling stories about her experiences, both good and bad. She comes from a different time than the younger officers. She expects men to be gentlemen, diplomats with high principles, and women to take pride in femininity and make an effort with their appearance.

Being an advocate for healthy lifestyles aboard Starships, she leads by example by staying physically active. Some of her hobbies include hiking and bicycling when she has the chance.
