Character Biography

Attending the Academy as a member of a race from a non-federation planet is not the typical path for Starfleet, but Jak’Rash isn’t a typical officer. While Kaelonian tradition is almost clandestine about sharing their culture and way of life with others, Jak’Rash’s parents saw the value of tolerance and approved of his request at 15 years old to engage in secondary studies on earth. A couple of years later, his parents were not as accepting of his desire to enlist in Starfleet and serve as a combat medic in battle zones. After several arguments, Jak’Rash conceded that he would serve a greater purpose as a full fledged doctor and that attending the Academy would be a worthwhile investment of the precious years it would take to graduate. As he’d spent the requisite time on earth, Jak’Rash was granted earth citizenry, so permitted to apply despite being born on Kaelon.

AT THE ACADEMY
A strong student with a dazzling academic record, Jak’Rash chose his studies over a social life and made few friends. During his senior work-study program, his thesis and work as the Junior Research Assistant for the Pacifica Department of Health saw him help in the development of a toxin which deferred leeches.
