Character Biography

Koycheva Olesya Nikitovna was born in St. Petersburg, Russia. She was always a very athletic individual, learning many forms of fighting such as karate, judo, Krav Maga, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as she grew up. At age 18, she moved to the United States to enroll at Starfleet Academy in the security track. She gained experience with weapons, enhanced her fighting skills, and learned everything she needed to become a proper security officer.

Upon graduating from the Academy at age 22, Olesya was assigned to the USS Cydonia as an Ensign, where she worked under Lt. Emerys McIntyre, her Chief Weapons Officer. Lt. McIntyre was an American whose grandfather served in the United States Marine Corps. He was a man of discipline and honor, and when asked about Olesya, even he said, “My grandfather never had pretty things to say about the Russians, but even he could admit that they were brought up with strength and resilience. Olesya is no exception. She is easily one of the finest officers I’ve worked with.” During her time on the USS Cydonia, she was promoted to Lt. Junior Grade and was eventually personally recommended by both Lt. McIntyre and Captain Simon Greseth to be stationed on the USS Chernov as their Chief Weapons Officer, where our story begins.

Personality
Olesya is a woman with a no-nonsense attitude. She was raised not to take crap from anyone and to make sure she was treated with the respect she deserved. She’s also insanely resourceful, especially when it comes to being in colder environments. But Olesya is also someone who knows the importance of relating to a person and being empathetic, and she always works hard to reach an individual at their level, no matter their circumstances. Finally, Olesya has a rare talent of getting into the mind of criminals and understanding why they do the things they do, as her father was Russian Intelligence. It was a skill she learned from him.

Olesya’s hobbies include dancing (lyrical and ballet), writing, drawing, and cliff diving. She has an orange cat named Dima who is 2 years old.
