Star Fleet Career Summary Background:

Zeke is stocky with blond hair and green eyes, and German American roots. He was born on Earth to a farming family in Lincoln, Nebraska. He went through Starfleet Medical before the Academy, specializing in in xenobiology. He’s also a pretty good general practitioner.

He had 2 brothers and 1 sister. As a toddler child, Zeke was involved in a boating accident at a lake where he very nearly drowned. He as since fully recovered, but now swimming terrifies him. He can get into a hot tub, but he won’t go swimming at an ocean, river, lake, or any body of water that has living creatures in it.

Zeke’s older brother, Logan Drake, was a Chief Tactical Officer on the USS Montgomery, and did special operations during the Dominion War and the Second Federation Klingon War. Logan now serves on the USS Manhattan as her Chief of Security.

After his tour as a cadet, he was assigned as a junior medical officer on Starbase 93. There he was promoted from Ensign to Lt. Jg and then made full Lt. He served as an assistant chief medical officer in charge of Xenobiology. Eventually he was transferred to the Black Rock Station as Chief Medical Officer, specializing in Xenobiology.

Zeke’s hobbies include Japanese Horror films. He also is an armature sculpture, although he’s not quite as good as he likes to think that he is. Zeke also enjoys researching ghost stories, particularly those that deal with haunted ships, such as the tale of the Mary Celeste, which is one of his favorites. He likes to play the violin as well.

Zeke keeps himself in top physical condition. He can handle himself in a fight against any single equally matched opponent. He’s got a black belt in Judo and is also a fairly good shot with a phaser. He prefers non-violent solutions and diplomacy rather than physical confrontations.

Zeke is a widower. He was married to Elizabeth “Betty” Drake. They had two children together, identical twins named Susan and Rachel. Both Betty and the twins (at age 8) perished with the loss of the USS Olympic A in 2390.

A continuous running Holosuite program, marked as “Highly Classified Research” by Starfleet Command. with “permission to access granted only to the ship’s CMO”, is, in reality, a recreation of his dead family in the setting of a home. Only he can access the holosuite. Rather than sleep in his quarters, he spends his off time hours either in the ship’s lounge, or goes to his family holosuite program.

He’s been doing this for the last 15 months, which he started the program after his family died, when he was just assigned as the CMO of the starbase. He gets away with it because he once saved the life of an Admiral’s son. That admiral turned out to be an operative for Section 31. The admiral gives Zeke minor assignments or asks for his medical advice from time to time, concerning Section 31 covert activities.

Hence, this bypasses the holodeck safety protocols and leaves no computer record of the program, except that it is marked as restricted use. If anyone else actually enters, either to activate the program or while it’s running with Zeke using it, the computer will automatically save the program file, stop running it, then hide it in the replicator sub-routines until the CMO personally directs the computer to reactivate the program.
